Keneg
I have been reading up on the color computer and found out that besides lucking out and buying the 64k version it is also a Korean model with a 6847T1 chip in it. I just haven’t been able to figure out how to enable lowercase letters. Also, I seem to be understanding that the characters are built into the chip and cannot be changed. Is this correct? There is mention of added graphics modes, but no information on what they are or how to access them. Can anyone point me to books on how to access the video and sound chips in assembly? MrDave
First poke the first one to stop the video mode from resetting Then you can set ff22 register to inverse, lowercase, border off.. second color set ( orange ) Just dont set the highest bit .. (graphic mode )
MrDave
After the first poke is done you can play with just ff22 all you want , just not the top bit or the lower 3 bits. So from 08h to 78h if you go 80h you will get garbage screen
Keneg
Thanks for the info. I tried it and just got orange letters on a red screen. Can the character set be moved to RAM and redefined? Maybe I don’t have the T1 chip despite the other indications.
MrDave
You still need to activate lowercase with shift 0 , no the chr roms are in the chip

That worked and confirms I have the T1 variant. I didn’t know about the shift 0.
MrDave
Yes you can you lowercase in your programs etc and it will show nicely.. you can have invert green, invert orange. Lots of options here i removed the black border, activated lowercase and switched to orange
