Source for IWM DIP?

I bought a for parts/not working IIc that does run but won’t do disk operations. So after debugging, cleaning the drive, checking voltages, RAM, testing with a Floppy Emu, I’ve come to the conclusion that the IIc likely has a bad IWM.

When I removed the board to inspect the underside, I found a note confirming my suspicion (picture attached). I LOLed but also was a little miffed that this message wasn’t put on the outside of the case instead of hidden underneath the board.

Everything I’ve read indicates that the IWM chip is unobtainium short of harvesting from another source. Is that still the case, or has anyone created an FPGA IWM or unearthed a mystical warehouse with boxes of integrated Woz machines?

Thread necromancy. But just to close the loop. As with Baldrick, I sourced an IWM from a cheap Mac Plus Board I got from eBay. Desoldering was tense, but the transplant was a success. Fortunately the remnants of the Mac Plus board were claimed from the free table of the 2023 Indy Vintage Computer Expo. Pay it forward.
