RAVE99 Speech Equations Compiled

I wanted to just post this in a separate topic by itself.

For about the last 2 months (give or take) I have been working with @Fritz442 to see if we could work on hashing out the original speech equations from the RAVE99 PAL and get them recompiled to be used in a GAL.  it appears we were able to get this done.

"Original concept by 'Fred Kaal'
 Updated and Compiled by 'Shift838' & 'Fritz442'"

The original worked mostly but did require a modification (jumper of pins 14 and 15 together) of the PAL socket as well as bending out pins 14 and 15 on the GAL in order to get it to function.

a couple of updates were made to remove this modification and now I have been able to successfully just drop the new GAL in place with the new code and the RAVE99 card functions normally.

I have tested this with:

  • TI Extended Basic
  • XB 2.7
  • RXB
  • Alpiner
  • Terminal Emulator II Basic
  • Parsec
  • Bigfoot
  • MASH
  • Microsurgeon
  • Moonmine
  • Star Trek

All function exactly as they did with the original PAL.

For anyone that would like to replace their PAL with a GAL or has a non-functioning card because of a missing or corrupt PAL then please download and give this a shot.

You will need to burn this code to a GAL20V8

I used my TL866II to program it.

Enjoy.

If for any reason anyone that tries this sees an issue that we have not seen please post it here.
