I am well on my way to finishing Rebel Galaxy and TLOUii, and I was able to finish the main story/game elements for Return to Monkey Island and Super Mario Galaxy 2.  This is probably a controversial opinion, but I think 'Galaxy' is my favorite Mario sub-series of all time.  I posted about both games here:

Usually, a game which exceeds 60 hours of game play in a week wins but this week Tales of the Abyss has to settle with second place as Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is 29 minutes ahead (less than 1% more). The PlayStation 4 has a strong week while there is not a single Xbox to be seen!

 

All three of Mass Effect: Legendary Edition (PS4), Tales of the Abyss (PS2) and Okami HD (Switch) enter the 50 Hour club. More detailed stats will come later in the week.

Top 100 games for 2022

 

In total, we logged 383,879 minutes playing 760 different games. That is 25% less minutes than last year, but 20% more games. The cut-off for being on the top 100 list thus has gone from 937 min (2020) via 920 min (2021) to 1055 min (2022).

 

Generally the top games of 2021 didn't fare well in 2022: MLB The Show '21 drops from #1 to #58, RimWorld is completely eliminated from the top list, and while PUBG hangs onto 5th place, it is due to times from the first part of 2022. Instead games like Jurassic World Evolution 2 and Pikmin Bloom have advanced, and of course several entries for No Man's Sky which was entirely absent in 2021.

Hey time tracking friends!  There's a thread on VideoGameSage where the users rank all the games they played in a year by tier, so I went through and figured out all the games I played more than 200 mins and tiered them.  I don't have an 'S' tier because I've had a long career of being asked to differentiate . . . things, and I've made up my mind that we really only need 5 categories of differentiation.  Everything else is fart smelling.  Although, I did pick a 1, 2, 3 from the A-tier, so I guess I'm a hypocrite.  Note that I participated in a NES and Intellivision high score club in 2022, so those systems are fairly heavily represented.
