A new system! The Evercade VS gets its first two native games. I got to try one of them. It's unclear whether these games can run on the Evercade handheld.

Fairy Fire - 40 min

A very fun mix of Joust and Defender. Will definitely play this some more.

This week I played:

Pokemon Brilliant Diamond for Switch - 2 minutes

Pokemon Shining Pearl for Switch - 2 minutes

Progress: All I did in each game was download the Membership Card mystery gift that will allow me to go find Darkrai in each game whenever I get far enough into them to do so.

Does this break the record for the shortest amount of play time posted for a game other than people saying they did not play?

iOS

Bingo Bash: 92 minutes

Microsoft Sudoku: 117 minutes

Pop! Blitz: 13 minutes

A fellow man of culture, I see, with Star Wars. :D  How do you like it so far?

I ultimately ended up going with the Switch version (for now) so it'd be easier to take my game back and forth from the living room to the bedroom.

Got any tips?  I've never gotten the hang of this one.  I remember trying to play the tutorial that shows you how to score a bonus (err something) over and over and just not getting the core gameplay.  I feel like I am missing something easy, but there are a lot of people in the Steam reviews who also seem to "not get it" either.

Actually twice there have been a game with exactly 1 minute of play in a single week:

2019 - To the Moon (PC)

2020 - 007 Agent Under Fire (PS2)

There have been a couple more occasions with 2 minutes per game, but of course it doesn't happen often.

Edit: Google tells me that 94% of the players like that James Bond game. Apparently the folks over here are not part of that 94%.

No, I used to understand it more but I forgot most of what I knew. You get the sneeze bonus by picking up the little red dots when you are in the third person view when the level starts. The hardest thing is just seeing what is happening beneath all the lights and distortion. Yak might have taken things a bit too far there.

Week 14

Top games

1. Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (Switch) - 1500 min.
2. MLB The Show 22 (Xbox Series X) - 1031 min. (#1)
3. WarThunder (PC) - 660 min.
4. Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga (Xbox Series X) - 650 min.
5. Horizon Zero Dawn (PS4) - 530 min. (#2)
6. PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (Xbox One) - 459 min. (#6)
7. Kyuukyoku Tiger (PS4) - 378 min. (#8)
8. MLB The Show 21 (Xbox Series X) - 304 min.
9. Dicey Dungeons (PC) - 300 min.
10. Breakout Recharged (Switch) - 245 min. (#10)

Top systems

1. Switch - 2404 min. (#4)
2. Xbox Series X - 2345 min. (#2)
3. PC - 1357 min. (#1)
4. PS4 - 960 min. (#3)
5. Xbox One - 539 min. (#5)
6. iOS - 464 min. (#6)
7. GBA - 95 min.
8. Mac OS 9/OSX - 75 min.
9. Wii - 54 min. (#8)
10. Blaze Evercade VS - 40 min.

Total 8403 minutes and 41 different games on 13 different systems, with 8 participants.

Yet again a brand new game (April 5, give or take one day based on timezone) tops the tracker as Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has two entries of which the Switch version becomes the most played game. Even if the two MLB games had combined the times it had not been enough.

On the systems front, we have not one but two "new" systems. Primarily the Blaze Evercade VS as announced, but we also got the first modern Mac OS game in the tracker. Technically I suppose OS 9.2.2 on a G4 is another of those borderline cases whether it goes into classic or modern, but since we got so much of the really old stuff in the classic, I'm happy to sort it in Modern even if the first hardware might've been released in August 1999.

Finally, WarThunder (PC) reaches 50 hours (3035 min) and thus is the 108th out of 1708 games to have done so.

I’m enjoying it early. The dialogue is hysterical. I do feel overwhelmed with all the side missions. I just finished the story mode for all 9 movies. Now I can start to play. ?

Not much to say. Got a new Saturn controller for Switch, so I played K Tiger on Switch a lot this time. Mary Skelter is finally back after like 2 weeks of absence, as well. Made it to the final dungeon just an hour ago, so I should finish the game by Wednesday.

PC
Andro Dunos 2 - 9
Crisis Wing - 100
Flowers -Le volume sur été- - 12

Well, I was trying to finish the entire series before the new drama CD released, but it will be here today, so that's not going to happen.

PS4
Battle Garegga Rev.2016 - 41
Get Star - 17
Kangokutou Mary Skelter 2 - 1005
Kyuukyoku Tiger - 98
Twin Cobra - 7

Switch
Kyuukyoku Tiger - 304

Android Phone:
Ingo Rondellen - 3 min.

So I refuled at Ingo last time in January, and in order to not waste my games I used them up in the Easter break. Lately I've been refueling at a different station which honestly has the same price plus a 1% bonus. Given that the Ingo game is rigged so you never will be able to enter top 10 in the smartphone game, it is no point refueling there instead in hope of winning 10 liters of gas if you know you'll never be able to.

And yes, for those of you who look at the status updates, I did spot a PlayStation 3 in my garbage room this past week. It was placed on top of the barrel for leftover oil, so it was quite yucky, had no peripherals (*) or games whatsoever. Given how well I know my neighbours, I can't imagine it was anywhere near a working state so I had a look at it in the garbage room and left it there. I'm quite sure that if my PS3 itch would be strong, I could get a known working machine with all the cables and some games to go with it for about $50 or less. To be honest, one is not allowed to dump electronics there, you need to take such items to the recycling station but not everyone play nice with the regulations.

(*) While I didn't look it up, it seemed like it would take a standard two-prong power cable, standard USB controllers and standard HDMI video cable? But perhaps Sony's own stuff or custom made for PS3 is to be preferred, at least for controllers.

Most Bluetooth controllers are compatible with the PS3. Even PS4 and PS5 ones. Any HDMI cable will work. You can also use PS1 or PS2 AV cables. As far as power cable its hard to say. There were variations in models.

Apple iOS:

Duolingo - 92 minutes

Pikmin Bloom - 195 minutes

Nintendo Wii:

Deadly Creatures - 80 minutes

Who knew I would enjoy God of War if you just replaced Kratos with an arachnid?

Super Impulse Tiny Arcade:

I am afraid the controller cable may be breaking on the Atari 2600 :(

Tiny Arcade “Atari 2600” Asteroids - 30 minutes

Played a lot despite it not being very good. See if you can spot the bugs in this sample:

Tiny Arcade Atari 2600 Pac-Man - 25 minutes

E0BB7B63-E515-4E4D-AFE3-793B297171EF.thumb.jpeg.aa8470b85d1a300c193a93407ea2a501.jpeg

I have to say, it’s not not fun…

Another week, another new system:

TinyCircuits Thumby:

Royalty-Free Space Debris - 20 minutes

This is not Asteroids as you know it. Since the screen is so small, you get arrows to help find the asteroid chunks, and you don’t seem to take damage from running into them.

The space is much too large so it takes forever to hunt them down. My fastest time so far is 528 seconds, or just under nine minutes. It looks cool, though.

Tennis - 10 minutes

It’s Pong. The CPU is terrible but so am I with this d pad. It’s fine.

Thumgeon - 20 minutes

It is an ASCII roguelike. It pretty much works although it seems much too hard.

Tiny Annelid - 10 minutes

The d pad is not really up to Snake.

Tiny Blocks - 20 minutes

As you might imagine, Tetris is a tall order. Because of the high resolution it’s more doable than you might think, but blunders are frequent and hard to recover from.

Tinysaur Run - 20 minutes

The adaptation of the Chrome “no internet” game is probably the most playable game on here as it only needs a single button.

This week I played:

Midnight Club: Street Racing for Playstation 2 - 30 minutes

Ridge Racer V for Playstation 2 - 62 minutes

Progress:

I tried Midnight Club but didn't do very well, only winning 2 races so far. I don't think this is a game I will keep as I didn't really like it.

I tried Ridge Racer V and thought it was quite a bit better. I managed to pass the easy Grand Prix, but didn't do as well on the 3rd part of the first normal grand prix. Still I think with practice I can do better. I'll hang onto this game.

I did not know this!  Do you have to do anything special to sync up xyz bluetooth controller or just go in the menus?

PC

Dicey Dungeons 130

Pinball Arcade, The 310

PS3

God of War: Ghost of Sparta 486

PS4

Horizon Zero Dawn 372

I finished HZD and posted about it here.  It will probably take me 5 years to play the sequel, but I'm looking forward to it.

I started playing the PSP converted to PS3 God of War spinoff game, Ghost of Sparta, and I'm trying to earn all the Wizard goals on a specific table in Pinball Arcade.  More updates next week . . .
