Nintendo made their own emulators for years and yeah in 2018 you're right, the NES emulator there was figured out, and it's quite exploitable it appears. This guy here figured it out detailed it in insane detail with images: https://jamchamb.net/2018/07/11/animal-crossing-nes-emulator-hacks.html Seems you can drop NES games if the formatted files are right onto a gamecube memory card and have them work in AC and he showed Pinball and Mega Man(1) as test subjects.
