Tempest
One of the main things that keeps me from going from real systems to emulation is the fact that I like to use the original systems controllers rather than a generic gamepad or keyboard. How many classic systems have a controller to USB type device that can be used with emulators? For example, is there a NES pad to USB device? SNES pad? Genesis pad? Is there one that does multiple systems (the thought of buying 15+ controller devices sounds expensive)? I have the Stelladpter so my 2600 needs at met anyway
mr_me
Almost everything is covered, even things like Channel F and Astrocade have USB adaptors. You could ask which controllers don't have usb adaptors. Adaptors like the 2600-daptor or the Retronic USB cover most DE9 based controllers including the Sega Genesis. Tempest
That's the one I have. Looks like I just need to find something for Nintendo controllers and I should be all set.

ClassicGMR
I really enjoy having the "real controller" feel while gaming so I chose this route. Here's what I use in my arcade cabinet: Atari 2600 - 2600-daptor II Intellivision / ColecoVision - vision-daptor x2 (1 for each system) Nintendo NES - Retrolink USB adapter Nintendo SNES - Super Nintendo Smartjoy adapter Playstation 1/2 - EAXUS PS to PC 2-port adapter XBox controller - Rock Candy wired XBox 360 controller Arcade - X-Arcade Tankstick with trackball All of the adapters are connected through a USB 3.0 powered hub and 3.0 port. None of it USES 3.0 - nor even benefits from it I believe - but if you have the ports why not connect to them? Keep in mind most of this stuff I have had for a very long time so there are more current items out there. Everything still works though! Leonard Smith
As a testimonial, I've been using a standard 2600-daptor for about a year now and I highly recommend it for 2600 and 7800 games. I detect no lag and it's 100% plug and play on a Windows 10 system. Highly recommended if you're on the fence.
