My only real criticism is that you are required to find a number of orbs in order to unlock the next level, and naturally that orb count goes up as you progress. But the only time you really know if you missed any or not, is when you complete a level and it gives a summary of how long it took to get through the sections and how many orbs of the total that exist in those sections, you were able to find. As a result of this, when it comes to the last few levels or stages in the game to unlock, you might not have enough orbs and then you have to replay sections where you might have missed them. But because you only know this on the summaries, you don't know which sections to go back and revisit afterwards since they don't tell you beyond those summaries. Unless there was something I missed or a key to press to show the stats?

Thanks for the nice feedback and I agree with your complaint.

However, you can access a table with all levels and orbs collected/totals at the title screen,  I think you need to press "option". Its a bit hidden.

I was not aware of that. I will check into that later and then retract what I said regarding that statement.

Some things not in the manual:

On title screen:

* - force Orb count display

# - force speedrun time display

Both will cycle around eventually anyway.

In game:

UP+C also drops a bomb (for those using whackjob non-standard controllers without a number pad, or even with the number pad in stupid hard to reach places...  :))

The Up + C I happened upon before even reading the manual and the game telling me to use the num pad. But the other options are nice to know. Again, when I got to the last portal stage, I was only like 1 orb shy. So I didn't know which other levels I'd initially missed any of the orbs for and just picked one at random that happen to have an orb I missed in an easy spot. Was also glad to see that collecting it, and then dying was all that was needed so I didn't have to play through the entire sections again for it to count.

I'm sure I'll sound dumb for asking where I can buy Jumping at Shadows. The box looks epic. I had no way to make it to PRGE but would like to grab this. I couldn't find it in the AA shop. Are these the pre-orders that are shipping?

Preorders did not start yet. Only devs and patreons recieved a couple of copies.

Thanks for your interest and Patience.

Those already playing it, please share your thoughts and spread the Word!

I added it to my Christmas list with a note (AtariAge.com Store). This won't be available any time soon then? If this is true I'll have it removed from my list.

Unf. I have no new infos and AA didnt post any updates.

"Soon" I guess. Keep fingers crossed, that preorders would be open within next couple of days (not weeks) and ship in time for xmas!

Did anyone ever confirm/disconfirm whether it works with the JagCD attached?

Jumping at Shadows doesn't work through passthrough with my JagCD attached. I would just get the red screen of death each time. But all my other games were fine so it wasn't the cartridge port. I played through the game with my JagCD removed and off to the side.

This might be specific to your copy of Jumping at Shadows, or perhaps a combination of base console and JagCD and the game.  I just tested my copy of the game on two different JagCD units on a M and K model Jaguar (4 tests), and they all worked for me.

Understood. I just know this cart and the JagGD are the only 2 I've had that won't work through the JagCDs passthrough port. The other Reboot games I own seem to work just fine so I really don't know what would be different or be the cause. But no matter how much cleaning I've done on the JagCD's pins or the cart slot has gotten anything more than the immediate jag roar sound and jaguar logo surrounded by a red screen and nothing. Pop it into the Jag itself and the game comes up just fine.

It really is strange that Jumping at Shadows isn't working through the JagCD, but it is working with the base console.  I understand this may not be possible because of availability, but testing it through another JagCD could be a next step.  That at least would help isolate whether or not it's the cart or the JagCD that might be the problem.  My instinct is telling me it is the cart, but it would be nice to confirm that though.

As a note, and you might already know this, the JagGD isn't supposed to work with the JagCD attached, it only works when plugged directly into the base console.

The Jaguar Cds cart port is even more finicky than the base console. I was lucky my unit recognized the memory cart.
