Atari8guy
It seems the Atarimania database doesn't list all the versions and products put out by Timeworks. Specifically: Swiftcalc ST version 2 Desktop Publisher ST version 2 Desktop Publisher Expansions - Design Ideas, Education Graphics, People Places & Things, Symbols and Slogans I think there are also some font packages...though I don't know the exact names. Does anyone know, is there an archive anywhere where these can be downloaded?

Atari8guy
Okay, here is the first expansion disk... Timeworks DTP Education Graphics. I couldn't get JayMSA to work so I can had to jump through some hoops on this. Can someone test it, if it works I'll image the rest with the same clunky process... I have 3 other expansions and SwiftCalc version 2. TWEDUGRP.msa
351coug
i downloaded the image and in steem(sse) it shows image as 84 sectors but inside the emulator it shows 2-80-9 . I can see all the files but since I dont have any timeworks software to load the .img files i dont know if they are working. What ver of msa are you using for the image? I have jay 17 and 18 and the original msa ver 103 and 141. Maybe you could use proreb or progem to make an image. they had standard copy modes even though they were intended for protected stuff.
Atari8guy
I used the HxC software to create the MSA, the disk is advertised on the box as not being copy protected.... I will try MSA, but I cannot think of why I can't get JayMSA to work.
BJolly
Yes the disk works. Thanks for sharing it. The disk contains IMG format files and these can be viewed in both Gem View & Image Copy so they should be available to use with a variety of ST programs including Desktop Publisher. I ran a slideshow of the files in Image Copy as the quickest way of checking them - all fine, I think. Other files on the disk lack a suffix file identifier so I don't know what they are? SwiftCalc 2 said to have some interesting features, would be good for it to be preserved. I haven't seen it around & don't think it's easily available.

My SwiftCalc 2 is still sealed but I'll open her up for the sake of preservation...
Atari8guy
Here are Education Graphics (this time done with MSA 141), People Places and Things, Signs and Symbols and Design Ideas disk 1 (disk 2 seem to be damaged and wouldn't image, I'd be happy for help with it). SwiftCalc 2 to come later - it's buried in the back closet as I bought it last year. twpptgrp.msa twsasgrp.msa twdsgid1.msa twedugrp.msa

The disk that appears damaged - some or all of it's contents mat be salvageable especially given your hardware. There are people on Atari Forum & maybe here with interest in disk preservation who may be able to help. Knife ST is a very useful and powerful program for this kind of thing - First if at all possible get a back up copy or image of the disk.
Atari8guy
Thanks! I'm definitely willing to learn, and even ship if necessary in order to preserve these titles. Edited March 30, 2022 by Atari8guy poor grammar
Atari8guy
So the 2nd design ideas disk makes all kinds of noise when it spins up, you can really hear it, like it's scraping the inside of the disk cover or something....ffftttth ffftttth... KnifeST wouldn't even play with it, just gave an unreadable error, thoughts?

Thanks for preserving those disks. Not my really area but I suggest searching on line for information about: 1. Cleaning floppy disks 2. "Lubricating" or otherwise enabling a floppy disk to spin freely This is assuming your disk drive is working just fine and can work with disks formatted as this one is. You could try the disk in a different drive to see if it spins more freely? With these old floppies - the longer we leave em before preserving the more likely the files n data can't be fully accessed - if at all. And any "cleaning" attempts may accelerate any wear & tear damage unless carefully done (the same may apply to old floppy disk drives). Atari8guy
Finally had time to dig out the Timeworks Swiftcalc V2 box. Opened it up and it still had the new plastic smell.... Anyway both disks seemed to have worked, no idea if they are copy protected - here they are, please test and let me know. swcalcv2.msa is the program disk swc2side.msa is the sideways disk that came with it, not sure if its different that V1 (I don't have V1 to compare to) swcalcv2.msa swc2side.msa
