Commodore 128 not booting up

Hi All

I have always wanted a Commodore 128 computer and have now got one on its way but unfortunetly it is faulty the seller thinks it could me a memory issue but would like the advice of the forum also I have seen videos of people programing a rom and putting this inside the computer to run diagnostics would this be possible as I have an eprom burner I have included a picture of what it is doing at the moment.

It’s is likely ram.  I diagnostic rom will still require a proper test harness.  Open it up and feel if any of the ram is getting hotter than the others (too hot to touch).

 

This screen shot tells you that 1) the processor is likely fine 2) the kernel rom  is likely fine because it has read the border color and sent it to the Vic.

 

The ram looks to be failing in the screen clear portion of the kernel routine.
