Keatah
Anyone remember this? https://www.filfre.net/2021/01/microsoft-space-simulator-or-charles-guys-galaxy-in-a-box/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Space_Simulator One impressive thing was the totally complete and extensive documentation. An example of what can be done when even a modicum of funds are poured into a project. It has even been said it was an early attempt at Microsoft trying to create an online community. Anyway it's an example of something way before its time. Thankfully we have a few other sandbox/simulation options today that are thriving and free. Or next to free.
jhd
I bought this software CIB at a garage sale in about the early-1990s. I am not into astronomy, but I had a lot of fun with it. The visuals were just amazing. I remember that it was easy to select any planet (and immediately put a space ship into orbit around it).
