jgrillout
I'm new to Stella. I see you can pass command line options. the ones i'm interested in are stella -logtoconsole <1|0> stella -loglevel <0|1|2> I'm not sure how to pass those parameters. I tried stella -logtoconsole=1 -loglevel=2 stella ran but I don't know where the log is. It isn't showing messages in the terminal I launched from. I don't see more than usual messages in the Stella prompt window or the developers screen tabs or options -->system log
mr_me
Logtoconsole indicates that the log is directed to the screen. Reading the documentation, Stella does not automatically send a log to a file. You access the log through the user interface where you can save to file.
mr_me
Sorry, looking at this again. Try it without the equal sign. E.g. stella -logtoconsole

mr_me
Other command switches definitely work. Not sure if -logtoconsole is broken or the console screen is misssing.

What I really want to do is step through the code when I move a player object into a wall on the play field. when I trigger the stella debug the arrow keys are not affecting the game. I suppose the stella debug interface window intercepts the arrow keys instead of passing them to the game.
+littaum
It is possible to use the controllers from within the debugger interface, it is in the I/O tab below:
