Welcome to the fifth round of the 15th 5200 HSC season!  Space Dungeon and Space Invaders tied the poll with votes each, and Space Dungeon won the resulting coin toss.  Play using the default settings.  Emulation is fine, as are custom controls. Pics preferred, but not required except for HSC wins and records.

 

The high score was set by rubeon with a score of 945,735 points.  Beat this if you can for a bonus point!

I tried it out on Kat5200 with a PS4 controller, and was able to get the right joystick to work as Player 2.  Here are my configs:

Thanks...I'll give it another try. I know I had it working at one time because I remember playing this game before using two controllers. But it sure doesn't want to configure correctly for me this time.

I'm sitting at 1,031,930 at the moment, but the score rolled at 1,000,000.  I could keep going, but the question is: do we count scores after the roll?

 

I'll park it at 1,331,000 for the time being. The hour is late.

Is the Atari 8-bit version allowed? I'm getting nowhere configuring controller 2 in Kat5200.

Congratulations!  No one else has come anywhere close to rolling this game, so the question of counting scores after the roll may be academic.  I personally think it should depend on if the game is still fun and challenging after that point, or if it’s just a grind.  (For example, 5200 Pac-Man’s monsters-stay-blue bug makes it pointless to count scores past the roll.)  So you may just be the only person on the planet who can tell us if 5200 Space Dungeon is indeed still worth playing after the roll!

That was original hardware, using CX52's in the dual controller holder.
