Commodore C128 ram faulty???????

Recommended Posts

Hi all

I have just purchased a Commodore 128 which was sold with 3 faults the first was it would not boot into 128 mode which I immediately traced to a broken rom socket the second was a sticking key which was a little piece of the plunger had snapped off removed the little bit and key is working fine and lastly he showed a diagnostic cart in 128 mode showing most of the ram as bad.

Now I have a diagnostic cart and it shows the same but the thing is it boots up in 128 and 64 mode with no issues although I have no software to try it at the moment but rather than start swapping ram chips is there an issue with the ram or is there something else making the diagnostic show this.

Any help would be much appreciated.
