Stupus Intellivision Homebrew Scene Timeline Release List Including Variants!

Recommended Posts

Just added the Lock'n'chase 8k gatefold from intellivision collector and the additional space patrol 2024 variant that I have yet to understand what makes it yet another variant! Lol

I thought that the 2024 designation is the only thing that is different, so a re-released game with the year added to the title.

I mean the variant of the 2024 version itself.

The 2024 version has a lto shell and a new manual different from the original release from years ago.

But apparently there is a another seperate Variant of the 2024 release itself.

That's the 1 I am unsure of.....is it silly....yes....where does the madness end? lol

Apparently, it’s an earlier version of the rom. No title screen. Around 15 copies out there…

Does anyone have some more information about this homebrew?

Did it ever see the light?

Stupus, I found it in your list as prototype… what does it mean?

It's not a homebrew, it's not a game prototype.  It was part of a demo created by Mattel Electronics hardware development to show their new cartridge rom bankswitching technology.  It was on the Intellivision Lives CD back in 1998.

Yes, it's not in my list. It's in the rom list a guy posted under my original post.

Looks like somebody made a box for it now?

I havent included all the private homebrew boxes in my list as there are too many to add.

If a real game was made to sell with the boxes publicly, then I add it ;)

I've never seen this box produced by any of the Intellivision box guys, perhaps it's just a mockup box idea.

The list should be up to date as of today and with only 3 days left in 2023 we might be at the total release count for 2023!

A mere 46!?!? releases this year! 😳

That's equal to roughly all the releases from the first 15 years of intellivisions homebrew life...2000-2014!

Wow-wa-woo-wa!!

Happy new year everybody!!

Since it doesn't look like the Inty Club games are going to make it out until January we going to call them 2024 games or 2023? 🤔

Gotta be year of physical release, no? Otherwise wouldn’t that retroactively make some of the Intelligentvision games 198x releases?

:)

I can officially say that I released the last games of 2023. LOL.

Well I figured all I had to do was claim a total and somebody would sneak a couple more in!! Lol

My list goes by the day we forked over the cash....so date they were purchased....not sure how we should count them since everybody actually gets them at different times. Easiest for me to quantify is date of sale....I have had tracking from rev for 2 weeks too...but no updates on it yet!

Well for those they were never put up for public sale until David made repros...so I dont think that's an issue.

It does get confusing though. But for me date of sale is a release date....that's how it generally goes for most products/releases.

Sadly I suspect that tracking from Rev is actually another package of unwanted "tasteful nudes" and not actual games. Ugh.
As for the release year, I'm ok with year of payment (kinda want to make a Rocketeer joke here) 😂

True, true. Date of sale does make more sense.

Hehehe, yes those groovy releases definitely were in my mind as I typed that.

Thankfully I think that's been the only time something like that has happened in the intellivision community.

Now Rev might teabag our games for 2, 3...4 months? But eventually they always come thru 😁

@stupus So, I would challenge that #181 should not be on the list as it is not a homebrew. The only thing new is the packaging much like other box and overlay creators have done. For example if we go down this road, someone could just take existing carts and throw them in Steve Jones designed Sears boxes and they would have to go on this list.

So I updated the list thru 1-3-3024 to my knowledge! Any help for missed items is much appreciated!

I had heard the SMB sold at PRGE is different packaging from the current 1 being sold....I dont know if that's correct?

The box, manual, overlays, shell and label are all different too.

I wouldn't add ones people made at home out of parts or boxes not publicly sold.

This list is for items available for the public to buy.

But after more thinking on it I did switch its status to a Variant. Since the game itself did already exist. This 1 was a very hard 1 to classify....

Can someone clarify the releases of Space Cunt?  I get that there was a 2014 release in the purple box. Then at some point (2014?) there was a release in the Intellivoice-style box (which says "Space Cant" on one spine). Then the Stupus list has "Space Beaver" (v12) released in 2018. Is this just the Intellivoice style box with a ROM change so the game name is "Space Beaver"?

My Space C*nt copy ,the purple box, says different things on either spine of the box.

I believe this and the Intellivoice version are the only 2 versions.

Unless someone knows of another....
