DavidD
A new Taito arcade collection is out, and I found myself wondering about the development of Qix. A brief summary of the internet pulls up the only two facts about the game that I can find: 1) It was produced by Taito of America. 2) It was designed/created/etc. by Randy and Sandy Pfeiffer. I can't find much else, other than those two facts again and again. Do we know anything about the Pfeiffers? Did they produce anything else? It sounds like they worked on an immediate sequel, but I can't find much information about the two. 1
TIX
Randy is mainly a sound guy, he worked on pinball sound effects before he messed with the arcades, looking for info for my "Firepower" pinball I found the following credits: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/games/credit/46810-randy-pfeiffer I think I read somewhere that he was responsible for "The Electric Yo-Yo" arcade too !

Going by this, I think he might be the "Randall R. Pfeiffer" who worked on the World Cop pinball machine and the one who filed a patent with a "Sandra S. Pfeiffer" for a message system: https://worldradiohistory.com/Archive-All-Music/Cash-Box/70s/1978/CB-1978-07-15.pdf https://books.google.com/books?id=BQdtxbvewbgC&lpg=PA1572&ots=Xj4b877BiH&dq="Randall R. electricmastro
Another possible link: the Randy Pfeiffer who worked for Microlog in 1993 https://www.linkedin.com/in/randypfeiffer/
matt!
That is indeed him. I interviewed him in 2003, by email. He told me that in all the time since the game was made in 1981, I was the first person outside of Taito to ever contact him about the game! https://blog.gingerbeardman.com/2003/07/22/jus4qix-the-story-of-a-classic-arcade-video-game/ 2
