I've never studied the code and perusing it now there's a lot of variables to understand their use and follow the flow. It's from the XBTOOLS disk by Jim Swedlow, 1987. On the same disk, he has another program called DATAPRESS DATPRESS that only combines DATA statements. Allows easier entry and debugging with short lines, then run through DATPRESS to combine as much as possible into single lines I had forgotten all about these neat tools. I often used Pre-ScanIt! and a smash program (the name evades me - XB Smash? Smash it?) to save space and speed up the code through the various tricks.
