electricmastro
A thread for Nintendo's DS handheld. Some of the standout titles for the system I think would include: The World Ends with You Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective Radiant Historia Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars Advance Wars: Dual Strike Okamiden Hotel Dusk: Room 215 Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow Contra 4 Mega Man ZX Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime Phantasy Star Zero
roots.genoa
I would have picked Advance Wars: Days of Ruin and Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia, but nice list anyway. Except for the few games I didn't play, the only one I didn't like is Hotel Dusk. I found it boring and even annoyed by the fact that every character has a similar sad backstory of a dead loved one. ?

I suppose one really has to be in a certain state of mind to enjoy it.
Austin
I probably would have dropped this in the Classic Gaming category. Most games on this platform look absolutely ancient, haha. That said, Castlevania Order of Ecclesia is easily my favorite game on the platform. Metroid Prime Pinball is up there for me too. I'm amazed at how long these systems hold a charge. I probably only use my DS Lite once or twice a year, and I never seem to have to charge it.
youxia
Yeah, there are some nice games on NDS. Played a lot of them in my first year or so. Then I tried Izuna: The Legend Of Unemployed Ninja, and it became my gateway drug to a roguelike addiction. Not long after, my beloved JRPGs started gathering binary dust, never to be played again, and only one game mattered: the homebrew port of Linley's Dungeon Crawl, called DSCrawl. This is a mindbogglngly complex, addictive, and replayable game on PC as it is, but the DS port is tailored perfectly to dual screens/d-pad and a match made in gaming heaven. I've been playing it nearly everyday since 2012 and didn't touch a single DS commercial game. I know they are good, but why bother when I could be playing Crawl? Some other NDS highlights are the amazing PC 286/386 MSDOS emulator, Dsx86 and one for ZX Spectrum, called ZXDS.

Hotel Dusk (and the greater Another Code universe) is exactly my wavelength, so I guess you have to be in my state of mind I guess to be completely honest my favorite DS game and possibly my favorite story-based game ever was Ghost Trick. I don't think a game has ever made me cry like that before or since. Some of my favorite games on the DS never came out in the US (shout out to Hotel Dusk sequel Last Window), but this is probably my single favorite:

A very colorful and vibrant sort of output:

electricmastro
A DS game where you use tornadoes to destroy as many towns as possible within a certain amount of time. Might be one of those cases where lacking graphics and sound might hinder the gameplay though since the whole point is to see the results of the destruction you’ve drummed up with the weather, and to have that muffled by graphic and sound design that could use more spark might considerably take away from the game overall. It definitely could use a remake:

I have heard a lot of negative things about this game. Is it worth playing at all considering how great the original game(s) are on the Neo Geo Pocket? Just wondering. Thanks!
