clark2
Hi, I have an Atari 2800 - Sears Video Arcade II, but i need the Ac adapter. I'm from Perú and here we use 220V. With all my others Atari 2600 consoles, i not have any problem using the "Retro 2600" compatible adapters. But i know that the 2800 has a different plug. My question is if i can use this adapter instead: https://www.ebay.com/itm/293845380599?hash=item446a8cadf7:g:XYkAAOSwGqFf0lyt&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAABAGw7njRHeTQImPXtHE1EhYM1q%2BrUONS8KOT6mLYUqdkmnb0HFNkfKyU4iZPVQwCS4NZqSWcZ4f53f6XoAtmrVoEMI4mnuK4q1WkJMO5Le9SaH79l7XkrNC9%2BqBQSeP%2BPrRJrIz5i4izZ5riKipXucNaSLqFS7WsmuUlhWPMM2f2Pt0t88CAuIvp%2BXEz6n%2BBaiXB1L37qZF%2F3xS%2FxnABbHwk0KLPhIymL2JUwRsss1oE55Ulf0WBRdY2Y3w0eRb84qcD96gluFicgEAF2HzS7UUuA0vvU6OXC29%2BAgUuuqKen3Saadd2Yq9B83niWhcf7jrwpysjezXdTGl6hW1M7hXI%3D|tkp%3ABFBMtu_RuKxg I atached an image i found of the original 2800 AC adapter. If any have any comment or suggestion i'll appreciate too much. Thanks. Javier. Edited June 14, 2022 by clark2
+-^CrossBow^-
I believe I use an Atari 5200 or Genesis PSU to power mine and others that come in for service work. It does use an AC output adapter yes, but it has a 'full bridge rectifier' to convert that AC back to standard DC. So if you use a DC output supply instead and it has the right voltage (9v), then it will bypass all of that and just go straight to the voltage regulation. You don't even have to worry about the polarity because again the rectifier in the console will take care of that.

+-^CrossBow^-
Exactly why I had it in quote marks...
