BITD, I bought a new 1997 Corolla and I drove it for 20 years and had 400,000 miles on it.

At some point in time (probably its last 5 years, or so) I just stopped changing the oil because every 1000 miles (about twice a month) I needed to put in another quart, so I just considered it as being in a constant/perpetual oil change.

I didn't even bother changing the filter.

Other than that it ran great and if the transaxle seal didn't fail and dump all my tranny fluid all over the highway as I was driving home one evening, I still may still have that car now.

As happy as I was to get 400k miles out of it, I was sad I didn't reach a half-million miles :(:)

So as of THIS MONTH:

You're $1,400 behind in rent.

Also $700 for a payday loan...which was to help pay fees on a previous payday AND ANOTHER payday loan before that?

Your car has 300,000 miles and is on its last leg.

And this is all Cindy's fault because you have to spend money to get her to notice you. 🤪

It sounds like you're nearing homelessness and you won't even have a functioning car to live in.

And despite all that, you're ready to spend $200 on a set of controllers for an old video game console?

I DO intend to dig myself out of this mess, and yes, even I have had reserve thoughts about Cindy Margolis' integrity in all of this. I was always lead to believe that if you want to hang with or join the rich & famous you had to act rich. Yes take nothing away from her history-making career considering where the two of us came from in 1983-84 (Erikson Center) but I think that she has been brainwashed by the "elite" in Hollywood into believing that "if you don't have the $$$ then she doesn't have the time for me", so that's why I have been trying to act like her and spend a bit more. I was thinking that maybe Cindy had a heart but apparently she is just like everyone else in the scene, they think that if we don't have $$$ then we are not worth it.

As for the rent, I already have July's rent all paid for, meanwhile St. Vincent DePaul is covering $600 of the $700 of June's rent, I still owe $101.00 for my part and yes, I'll definitely have the $$$ to pay next month's rent on time and as far as May's rent I'm continuing to bust ass at work and trying to not have to sell any of my consoles but if I HAD TO then I just might have to do exactly that. Besides, I haven't really put any $$$ into any of my other units (ColecoVision, Atari 7800, or the Atari XEGS) except for my 5200 and since I have gone out of business and have hung it up for good, I am thinking about parting ways with those three units and just keep the 5200 and put the support towards it like I have been doing these past 40 years I have owned one.

Also, about my 2002 Beetle GLS, I was talking to a couple of my neighbors here at Bishop Park and they both suggested that maybe I sell her sooner rather then later considering I can get something for her now as opposed to down the road if the timing belt snaps in which I might probably get nothing. Of course the drawback to not having a car in a hermetically-sealed, highly-rural area like Port Townsend/Jefferson County is that you really can't do anything except at home, as there are hardly any of the same resources that urban counties like King County have that can step up and help with repair costs in which I cannot afford any of, period.

I'll be fine guys, I AM starting to get back on my meds if i can remember to take them, and WE WILL get though this, but it just might have to take a bit of a lifestyle sacrifice that's all.

Redacted.  You're obviously not capable of caring for yourself and no amount of posting from a keyboard half a continent away is going to help.  Best of luck in which I wish you.  I'm off this Groundhog Day ride.

STILL, have those consoles, I'm not giving up yet. But yes there won't be any more videos on YouTube unfortunately, not when nobody will ever see them because of the algorithms literally hiding them from site.

...and we're starting to make progress on the bills too. As for Cindy she pretty much is a lost cause.

Yes, clearly it is CINDY that is the "Lost cause"..............

Over It Ugh GIF

it's THE OTHERS who are perpetuating this BS.

What's bullshit, Ray, is that you're blaming everyone but yourself for the mess that you've not only put yourself in but keep yourself in through your own refusal to stop buying toys.

Is this a case of 'forgetting' to take them, in which they actually weren't purchased in the first place due to toys taking priority?

The lifestyle you need to sacrifice is the one in your future where you're homeless.  But, hey, who cares about sleeping under an overpass when you can use a ColecoVision as a pillow and a 5200 for a waifu, right?

Also, quit this 'we' shit.  This is your responsibility, not anyone else's, and the implication that I or anyone else is somehow a part of that is not appreciated.

Fucking grifter.  I tried to help you and you shit all over me.  Apparently I'm not the only one this happened to.

Seems more like you all are bullying a special needs person that will always need money, help and support.

How dare you.  It's not bullying when people have given money, offered repairs, and even looked out closely enough to call in the police for a welfare check from across the country due to a post mentioning suicide.  Don't come in acting high and mighty when you know nothing of what has transpired over a period of years.

Reinforcing @Stephen's point: offer Ray financial support with the proviso that it's only to be used for food, rent, medication, or car repairs.

We'll await the results with great anticipation.

I know a dude that we long ago gave the nickname of Slug, who very much reminds me of Ray.  Someone like that literally can be given the best advice on the universe, yet will somehow still make gnarly choices that cause their own downfall in life.  It is sad, but people can only help so much, and try to advise them so much.  They just have to learn not to have such self-destructive behavior.  I can't even say (the the part of Slug) that it is even his fault, and a good percentage of his issue is the lack of anyone in his houshold giving two craps about him.  So when you grow up with shitty advice for your younger years, then as an adult you tend to ignore the advice of others... and end up making a fool of yourself online.

He had been fed generosity time after time and you still do not get the outcome you invisioned. Behaviors cant be changed with generosity. But to berate someone who you claim emotionally unstable and someone who has threatened self harm is wrong.

Actually the amount of care this dude has gotten from basically complete strangers is quite impressive!

You don't know the background here, so permit me to outline a small part of it for you: he burns one person in a way that causes them to finally say, "fuck it," and he moves on to the next sucker.  It's only relatively recently that the extent of his manipulation became evident.  Don't pretend to have any great insight as to what has happened here because you simply don't.

No, they can't, but someone sure as hell can exploit their disability for personal gain.

I'll thank you to not put words in my mouth as I have never made any such claim.  Ray described himself as mentally disabled, and was taken at his word as regards that description.  He also used that description for personal gain.  Repeatedly.

Don't pretend to speak about that incident with even the slightest iota of authority, understanding, or moral insight as only three people were a part of it and you were not one of them.

And it seems like you REALLY need to spend some time going on a BIG Ray Jackson deep dive. Start with the FB status he posted. I like how in that latest rant blaming everyone for the fact that he’s terrible at everything, he mentions a coworker by name, causing her to receive threats. She publicly asks him to remove her name and he doesn’t do it. Lady, if you’re reading, report him to HR. If he worked for me he’d be fired.  Ray, get back on your meds. You are a danger to others at this point.

Any news on these controllers?

I'm in college now, but I've already purchased everything required to make the first batch of controllers. All I need now is some spare time, and it may be several months before I have any of that. Rest assured, the controllers are still coming, but it would not be reasonable to give a time frame, because I have no clue what the immediate future holds.

No worries. It's good that you're focused on school. You've plenty of time to make toys later. If it's just a matter of needing someone to assemble things, feel free to PM. Best of luck in your studies!

I disagree.  If Cindy wasn't so damn selfish and would have just spent more time promoting him, he would have been bigger than Justin Bieber and Eminem combined.  Have you not been hearing this for the past decade or two?

Don't forget the mutual breakup.  All things Margolis are now in the rear-view mirror, disappearing into an ever-shrinking dot on the horizon to the rear.  The future looks only like this:

Queue the scene from Boogie Nights where Dirk tells the record producer "our stuff is that good man - just give us the tapes, we'll get a record deal, then we can pay you your money!"

Sorry to self quote, but there was a reply in the meantime.  For clarification:
