Auto Dialer on the Colecovision

Just curious if anyone has ever tried this.

 

Create a cartridge that allows you to input numbers then call.

 

I know, a useless machine but dag on I am curious.

A 100% True Story

 

I called that 1800 number back then and was asking about this free paperwork on how to program sound.

 

I also asked the operator on their side if they even used the Auto Dialer which they said yes, all the time.

Of which I replied, by the time I started ADAM, booted the software from the slow DDP and then it wasn't even touch tone I could have dialed it myself and save 7 minutes.

 

The Auto Dialer was an neat idea but a complete waste of time and resources.

 

But I am really and sincerely curious if it could be run from the Colecovision.

My thought is also what else can I hack the Auto Dialer to control around the house with a couple of wires.

 

Hack the controllers to connect to Alexa and have the AD jack up the lights.

 

Try and explain that one to your friends coming over.

Absolutely no reason that the AutoDialer wasn't built into the ADAMLink 300 Baud Modem with auto-answer capability, well unless the required lines aren't present with internal Expansion Slot #1 whereas all the lines are available with the side Expansion Interface.

 

No one has done what you suggest that I know of and only 8 Bit Milli has experimented recently with his CP/M cartridges.
