Ed in SoDak
Complete docs and manuals are included in the package. An overview and links plus a list of all the pertinent TI99/4A resources are in the pinned post just above yours. Scroll down a little ways to find XB256 and related suite of programs. 1
pixelpedant
Indeed, the author of the software writes excellent documentation. So the advice to read it as a complete reference on the package and dialect is well founded. It will genuinely tell you everything you need to know. It won't teach you to write TI BASIC or teach you how a TI-99 works. But it'll take you from there to using the package pretty comprehensively. In practice, XB256 is almost inherently used to write compiled Extended BASIC programs. In principle, you could use it as a regular interpreted dialect with no intention of compiling, but as far as I can tell, just about nobody other than me has, given the incredible appeal of seeing your program's execution speed hugely increased with pretty much no work at all (and no additional knowledge required), by compiling. I have done an in-depth video on the use of XB256 (and the XB Game Developer's Package) as a compiled BASIC here:
