RJ
I have the chance to get a FREE 8 ft pool table & wifey greenlit it last week but now she's giving me opposition- mainly saying we can't fit an 8 footer in our space. Sent me a screenshot showing the minimum space around ANY table should be 5' but I find this somewhat outlandish & excessive. I literally can't recall 5' around any of the tables I remember playing in the past in a residential setting. Do you owners get by with less than 5' all around? RJ
We have no problem with vertical length in our basement space; but the narrowest point between 2 walls is 12 ft (144") so apparently only 1.5' (18") shy of what is "required". However only a portion- maybe 2 ft (the end where the balls are racked) of the table would occupy that area. We could even get shorter cue sticks.
