dougfly
Hi all I'm looking for a service that can recover data from a floppy disk. The issue occurred when I was reading the disk. The computer gave me an error message claiming it could "not read this type of file" although it had read many of the other files in the same format. I attempted to read the file again and the computer gave me an error message saying that the disk was unreadable. I've tried cleaning the disk with isopropyl alcohol without success. The disk was formatted with TOS 1.0 I believe, and is not readable by a DOS machine. Also the files are in MasterTracks Pro format (e.g. not MIDI) and I will need the files in MIDI format. Any feedback is appreciated.
ParanoidLittleMan
There is certainly damage of some sections of disk. That's why it even does not recognizes type of file correctly. If you have floppy drive in PC with Windows OS, here is my SW with what can read it - but don't expect miracles - damaged data will be not read well. http://atari.8bitchip.info/floimgd.php Only with internal drive, not USB one. And chances are better with some Atari with drive in good shape. It is likely that some, maybe majority of files will be extractable/copyable .
