Welcome to the updated forum! Please read!

I don't know if you have any plans to work on the Deflection ( Dark ) theme or not.. but at the top right of the screen I have this.. and it won't go away.  That junk about "Find results that contain".  Otherwise it seems to be ok?  I probably won't notice anything until I start using the forum more.

BTW welcome to the flipside.  I guess I'll have to wait for the search indexes to rebuild.  :P  I've been revisiting some of the homebrew images like I occasionally do to make sure I have the latest.

Ahh, yeah, I have to update those themes!  Let me see if I can update those right now before I go to sleep.  Congratulations on being the first poster on the updated forum, at least I think you might be!  Not including me!

I updated the Dimension and Deflection themes, but I still see that menu display improperly.  I saw this with the AtariAge theme initially as well, but it went away (and not sure what caused that to happen).  I tried clearing my browser cache, but that didn't seem to help.

If anyone else is seeing this issue with any of the themes (including the default AtariAge theme), please let me know.

Thank you,

first of all thanks for the update.

I'd juts let you know that when the post is short, then "Quote" bar covers the profile photo:

Yeah, that's one of the very first things I saw, this should get fixed tomorrow (well, later today).  Also, the spacing above and below these quote boxes also needs to be fixed.  And a bunch of other stuff, but yeah, that quote bar thing is quite annoying.

Yeah, and the annoying thing is the search index will have to be rebuilt again once I am able to switch the search engine to Elasticsearch.

Just noticed two (very small) things:

  • With the previous version, in the unread post stream, it wasn't needed to click on the "bullet" at the beginning of the topic title to go to the first unread post (it was possible to click on the title itself), at least for the "first page" of unread posts (everything after the button loading more posts would require to click on the bullet exclusively). That being said, I remember it was not always consistent, so maybe it will change later when the index will be fully restored (right now the stream has difficulties showing unread posts before the upgrade).
  • The unread post separation used to be orange, but now it's blue like everything else, which doesn't make it very easy to see.

Congratulations anyway.

The post separation I will change back to orange, similar to how it was before.  I'll look at the "First Unread Post" issue, I know Invision has not been consistent with this in the past and it's been confusing, as what these links do sometimes changes depending on context.  I'll need to make sense of it so i have a good answer when people ask how they are supposed to work.

Thank you,

Looks weird, especially on an iPad.  I think the fonts are wrong, or slightly too big, or too bold -- at least in the thread list.

I'm using theme Gravity (is there any other? LOL!), and there are some issues, mainly the page numbers in a thread are invisible.

Occasionally, some bar at the bottom shows up with the same icons as in the header bar, for home, chat, notifications, etc.  oh, and the posting box floats over it when scrolling.

All in all, it's not bad, it's rather snappy, and I expect these issues to get hammered out in the coming days -- that, or I'll (*sigh*) get used to them like after the last upgrade. 😁

Hey! At least I'm posting in AtariAge!  The world makes sense again. :)

Cheers!

Ok, more weirdness:

  • Clicking on "Quote" to quote a post does not work (on iPad).  It just jumps up to the top of the page, but does not quote.
  • Clicking the "+" to quote multiple goes to a page that says "post not found."

Oh, I miss the old days where clicking in the bread would automatically send me to the last post.  In the previous version, once you've read the thread, there was no way for me to get to the end -- it always jumped to the first one, and of course, the bullet icon that took you to the latest seen, would turn grey and deactivate when there were none unseen.

I think the use case of going back to the last post of an already read thread (to catch up and re-read the latest, or something like that) is more common than restarting at the top every time.

I haven't looked at it on an iPad yet.

I'll ask the theme author to fix that, he's working on fixing some of the main AtariAge theme issues now.  I believe you mean the Dimension theme, as I definitely do not have Gravity installed here (did a while back!)

Interesting, will look at that.

Yes, definitely seems faster to me, which is good.  We'll see what everyone's overall impression of speed is.  It's still busy rebuilding lots of data in the background as well, so probably will be faster still once all that's done.  And, yes, any theme issues will definitely be hammered out fairly quickly.

Thanks for your feedback,

Yeah, that happens on the desktop view as well, I'll bring these up with the author, thanks.

As I mentioned earlier, I need to see how these various thread links work and where they bring you (first post, first unread post, last post..), and see if they are consistent in different views.

Oh, right, Dimension.  Why do I remember Gravity?  I guess that was the one I used in the previous brand of forum.  Weird, the theme name of Gravity is emblazoned on my mind.  Perhaps we that's why I never can find my keys -- not much room left up there!

Thanks.  I'll continue using the forum as normal, and let you know if I find anything else strange.

The Gravity theme was very nice, I was disappointed to see it wasn't updated for version 4.x of the forum software.  There are a whole bunch of nice themes here from the same author:

At first glance it looks fully functional and I wouldn’t have even noticed the minor blue-orange theme differences had you not pointed them out. I’ll bet you had a long day setting everything up after the data migration. Hopefully having the app in the cloud gives you some free time back once everything is rolling.

The option to sign in anonymously (don’t show online status or last login) seems to be gone or moved. Is it coming back?

On the Desktop version, using InterWeb (a fork of FireFox for older machines), it works fine:  I am able to quote and multi-quote with wanton abandon.

Oh, just realized ... I don't see an "Edit Post" button ... anywhere!!!  😁😧 😱

They moved it for some reason to the "..." icon in the upper-right corner of a post (the Report link is also there). I'm going to see if I can get those back as proper links that aren't hidden.
