R-Raid 2 - Danger'n'Space and the sequel to the R-Raid hack, which I had released late last year, was my first hack also on the 2600.
The shooting game now takes place in outer space, precisely in their environment, in their stations, motherships or alien hangars, where all the force of the alien invasion with plans for the domination of our planet is concentrated.
Mechanical, biomechanical, biological hostile creatures or the
Mysterious universe-traveling monoliths will do anything to destroy your ship. All life on Earth depends on your success.

 

Use robot drones as fuel for your starship.

R-Raid 2 - Danger'n'Space and Bad Music 👾 

 

Analyzing the code seems to be possible to add some kind of soundtrack to the game, the result of my tests brought a kind of annoying music. I didn't delve into it or try something better to compose. It's worth it just for the curiosity of what the original River Raid would be like with a good soundtrack.

How many notes are you using with the music?  I see you were able to change the sprites under the fuel gauge which is an improvement as well.

Two notes. It takes a lot of attention when changing the fuel gauge, because its sprite works like a mirror, depending on where it changes, the pixel can be reflected above or below its fixed position.

In this small change in the code we can have some bigger sprites.

It definitely feels more like a space shooter with the latest changes.  Did the sprites get both taller and wider?  I think it's a definite improvement along with the sound effects!

R-Raid 2 DS - Sound Chaos 👾 

Here, a kind of chaotic sound is reproduced, as if the environment around you was in a swarm of bees, not by chance the sound reminded me of the great game Killer Bees from Odyssey. 🐝

R-Raid 2 DS - Union 👾 

 

Combining the bad music with the bigger sprites.
There was a slight change in pitch in the notes of the song. 

It has a softer and more pleasant tone to listen to.
