BBCode support has been deprecated by Invision and is now disabled by default.  I didn't turn it back on, as it would be best for people to get used to using the built-in editor functions that would normally be handled by BBCode, since it's obvious it will be completely removed at some point (probably fairly soon). Here's the setting in the Admin Control Panel for this feature:

I went ahead and edited your last two posts in that thread and fixed all the formatting for you.  In the future you'll need to use the buttons in the editor window to do this, but there are also keyboard shortcuts for some things, such as bold and italics, which on the Mac are Cmd-B and Cmd-I.

It is a little annoying that Code opens a new modal, while Quote and Spoiler insert blocks directly in the editor window. However I understand that is how Invision has designed it and nothing you can do anything about.

I think it's because Code requires some additional input (the syntax highlighting mode), whereas others such as Quote and Spoiler all you're doing is pasting some text.  Link is another one that has a popup, because you have two fields, the link itself and the text to display for the link.  It's been that way for a while with all of these, it's just that now the BBCode has been deprecated (something they've been threatening to do for a while, and they are warning people that the BBCode support is likely to disappear entirely soon).

Yup. I shouldn't really complain, since in my $DAYJOB, our web based software opens modals all the time, sometimes 2-3 layers of modals in a tongue twisting way to give them focus in the right order.

Speaking of syntax highlighting, I wonder if e.g. Batari Basic or for that matter IntyBASIC has any defined syntax highlighting and how much work it would be to add that to the code box. I suppose a list of reserved keywoards would be fairly easy to define if it is desired to keep those apart from variable names, function names etc.

That's a good question.  It looks like this is a plugin for CKEditor that usese the highlights.js Javascript library.  Looks like that library actually supports some 197 languages and 247 styles, and obviously only a subset is displayed on the forum here.  So I'm sure Invision has it filtered to some of the more common languages.  I imagine it's pretty easy to add new languages to the library, but no idea how you'd then get that into the forum.  There's probably a Javascript file in the forum that controls this, but I would not be able to modify that, and I doubt there would be a way to write a plugin to enable additional functionality on that front.  I can inquire about it, though.

Thank you very much! :)
