Kirk_Johnston
Does the Genesis have dedicated object/sprite attribute memory in addition to the VRAM like the SNES object attribute memory (OAM), or do the object/sprite attributes just take up a small amount of the Genesis dedicated VRAM (or something else)? +Gemintronic
This might have some info about video memory: https://segaretro.org/Sega_Mega_Drive/Technical_specifications#Graphics What programming language are you using? Sounds like something you could test out with the right emulator.

Yes, the sprite table is in the 64kb VRAM, location is defined in a VDP registry
+Gemintronic
If you use something like Gens KMod you can actually see how video memory is used as your compiled ROM is running https://segaretro.org/Gens_KMod#Download So, you can do things like flip a sprite horizontally and then check how video memory is affected.
