I received both games today from Canada to California in a super short amount of time,Awesome!

I started playing The Show Must Go On and it is a really fun and entertaining game, with much more depth than I pictured.

It's very original in its gameplay, and also challenging with nice replay value.

Just curious is the Rom available yet?

I would like to recommend this game to the people over in the Intellivision HSC club and I'm pretty sure most of them are Rom players and not CIB collectors like me.

Everyone who plays Intellivision should know about this game!

And,the clear-smoky colored cartridge shell is nice Also.

I need to remember to order a few of those to put some other game boards in.

Thanks  go out to C. Madruga for all the great programming and to Intellivision Collector for the nice all around package!👍😊

It's based on another game with a theme change.

Plate spinning is basically a videogame sub-genre which has seen all sorts of takes over the last 40 years.

The first one may have been Dancing Plate on the 2600. A more recent example was Plate Spin on the Switch.

I grew up playing Mr Chin (1986) on the MSX, which directly influenced The Show Must Go On.

Something unusual about The Show Must Go On, however, is the fact it depicts plate spinning in a Western setting, even if fictional.

In fact, plate spinning has a long history in the West. There is evidence of it going back since at least the Middle Ages.

Most if not all other plate spinning games will contextualize this activity in Asian/Chinese settings.

I like to think the main character in TSMGO picked up this wonderful skill on a long trip to foreign lands 🙂

TSMGO also includes a mechanic which could be described as "audience mood simulation".

The audience may get bored and leave your show (which will tend to upset the King), or they may get excited and cheer for you.

There are particular moves that are crowd pleasers. Learning which ones will help you maximize your score.

Also this may be the first plate spinning game involving runaway moose on stage. Take that, plate spinning games from the last 40 years!

My favorite opponents are actually some fearsome plate-eating bats. Even though, when those show up, you will wish those were more conventional bats of the blood sucking/vampire variety instead!

Finally, plate spinning aficionados should also enjoy the rendition of Sabre Dance by @carlsson. Which in modern pop culture is frequently associated with plate spinning in TV and live exhibitions.

TSMGO also includes other classics carefully selected by Carlsson, which match very well the mood of the game and help convey a feeling of being very busy while walking around on a stage.

I hope you all enjoy this somewhat unconventional game!

I don't mean to brag, but TSMGO is for sure the best medieval plate spinning game released in August 2022 for the Intellivision.

Also thanks @wolfy62 and @cmart604 for your comments ;-)

I was actually hesitant to buy TSMGO since I am more into the Adventure/Shooter type of games.  I however found TSMGO to be very playable and enjoyable and quite glad I bought it.

I think I felt the game would be stressful and it probably does get stressful but the plates falling has not been what is ending my game.  It's failing to avoid standing in the fire.  /facepalm

Excellent job.

I would like to clarify my comments. The Show Must Go On, clearly has new elements that make it a really cool game. The theme and presentation are original and it certainly is NOT a clone of Mr. Chin in that only the GAME PLAY is not original. Wolfy said the game play was 'original' and I pointed out that it wasn't. Clearly, there are many original aspects to the game, and very well done.
