pixelpedant
Surely some folks have ideas on practical uses for the little chunk of space inside the speech synthesizer, revealed by opening its lid. What have you kept inside your speech synthesizer, or what do you figure could take up residence there? My suggestion: an external speaker, for playing synth audio right off the chip (for cleaner output than you get, running it to the 9919).

jrhodes
Rig up a tiny hidden sound playback chip (like some novelty greeting cards use) that plays back when the lid is opened, with the message "We've been trying to reach you about your cars extended warranty." lol https://www.amazon.com/Greeting-Recordable-Invitations-Handmade-Products/dp/B08VR9S9LK Edited August 30, 2022 by jrhodes 6
+save2600
Have to admit that as a kid BITD, I kept certain valuables hidden tucked away under the hatch. Nothing too exciting... paper money and a small collection of antique coins mostly. 😀

GDMike
I guess you could throw a Bluetooth audio transmitter there.

Keatah
Why'd it have a lid in the first place?

Originally the plan was to release cartridges that would extend the built-in speech vocabulary. There are a few out there that actually have the cartridge port (and from pictures of one of them we reversed the pinout), but I don't think any actual cartridges ever turned up. 1

Bill R Sullivan
Golly, if only my brain cells weren't so rusty; I often thought if I still used sugar in my coffee... Just until I went to a two cup thermos, as my 80K MG GramKracker.. Uh oh, I forgot the "punch" line. Sorry, I'm probably not awake, yet!
