I have been on vacation but I am back at it. I have a sticky bit. The 99 text files are limited to 80 characters but if we insert text at the cursor rather than line by line I have to start chopping lines. +TheBF Posted July 26 Author Share Posted July 26 Sorry for the delay @dhe I decided to learn the Viola and it takes way more time than I thought! Here is new version that is a big re-write. I has a join (J) command now but it cannot insert into the cursor. The 'r' command can read files into the buffer now. I just tweeked the man page with what I can think of. I gotta run out and this hot off the press so let me know what you find. It still has the small 8K buffer but it seems more solid. +TheBF Posted July 31 Author Share Posted July 31 Yesterday while playing with this editor in Classic99 I found a big shortcoming. It does not take text from the paste menu. I traced this back to my latest repeating key code and I have no idea why it works great from the keyboard but not from paste. I can fix it by removing repeating key feature in insert mode if anyone is actually using it. @dhe? I will do more research on a new repeating key routine.
