Configuring Atari Fighstick spinner in Batocera / Stella / 2600

I bought this beauty and am very impressed with it. Tempest, Centipede, Millipede and Missile Command work great with only 1 minor change in Retroarch.

 

I cannot however get the spinner to work in Stella / 2600 games. I've been testing with Breakout mostly. 

 

I have been to the Stella Wiki and I see the input menu but nothing will bring that up in Batocera that I can figure out.

You can check with Batocera but I don't think the included Retropie version of Stella supports mouse as an input.  You'd likely have to install the full version of Stella, if possible.

What I see from Retroarch is 

 

1.10.3 - Stella (7.0_pre-ba51197)

 

When I use the spinner and trackball in retroarch, the mouse pointer moves. However I cannot get it to actually register in any of the input fields. I'm not sure where it goes, but I've been poking around some guesses with no luck.

It looks like Batocera is a closed system.  So you wouldn't be able to install full Stella.

Thanks - I plugged it into the retro-VCS AMD hardware thing in the other room and it worked with no configuration (other than button swaps on Missile Command.) Wish it worked in Batocera 2600 but it has a handle on it I can carry it over to the other room when the urge arises

Don't know what device you have running Batocera but you can look into installing a different system, one that supports full Stella.
