+TheBF
Over on reddit.com/r/Forth I found a link to interviews with the creators of programming languages. I really enjoy learning about the history of programming languages and why these people created their language the way that they did. Perhaps some 99ers would enjoy them as well. Here is BASIC (which originally had a compiler) Here is Forth Here is C++ (There is not an interview for C, but there is one for Objective C) Here is Python There are more languages in the book as well. 5
Duewester
Thank you @TheBF. I was just unloading about how programming changed so much, so quickly.
Count9929A
About this topic, I suggest you to read the proceedings of the academic conferences organized by ACM (more info here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Programming_Languages_(conference) ). I read some of the paper, and I found them extremely interesting. There have been 4 conferences (the wikipedia page is not updated). The proceedings for the 2nd and the third seems to be freely available here: https://dl.acm.org/conference/hopl/proceedings
