LatchKeyKid
Still a noob here but this time with a question about sound on the 2600. I've been looking at the randomterrain sound guides and playing around with the tool linked there: I was wondering how common it was to have music playing through one channel with the in game sound effects exclusively through the other. Obviously in game sounds would have to alternate or replace each other and couldn't overlap with themselves but can you have music running on one and the game sounds through the other? Is there any sort of interference between the two that would make the effect suboptimal or some other complication that I'm blissfully unaware of? I'm considering adding music to my next hack and was wondering if this is a viable option for someone like myself with a very limited knowledge set regarding programming. +Karl G
Yes, the channels are independent, and you can indeed use one for sound effects and the other for music.
LatchKeyKid
That would be great assuming I can learn how to program it! Hopefully the overlapping of the two won't sound strange.
