Help! Display issue on my STe

My STe is going crazy, the desktop works as normal but if I try to run any games it looks like the horizontal hold has gone on my TV. It’s not the tv because I have tried other things on it and it’s fine.

That certainly looks like horizontal/vertical hold need a little tweak, a small adjustment may have no effect

on other things, worth a try before you start pulling the STe apart.

Honestly I think you should invest in this: Dell SE2722H 27" Full HD (1920 x 1080) 75Hz LED Monitor.

A new 27 inch monitor that is available and works 100%!

That looks like the game is PAL or switches to 50Hz mode. (or 60Hz if the Ste is PAL region)

This is why I'm glad to have two SC1224 monitors as they have no problem with 50Hz or 60Hz.

As Charlie_ explained, 50 / 60 Hz switching is normal for a STE;

switching is performed via software,

 

Try your STE in another TVs, such modern LCD/TFT screens.

Most of them supports 50 / 60 Hz
