Remember to play the game with the recommended game mode and difficulty settings as shown above so that your scores will be consistent with everyone else. The deadline for posting scores is Midnight (EST) the evening of Oct 23, 2022 Bonus: The Buddy System is BACK! Do you have friends? I don’t. So, at the end of this week, you will be paired up with another player…. A Buddy. If you finish first this week… then you will be pair with whoever finishes last this week. You will not know who is ‘your Buddy’ until the final scores are posted and the final standings are done. Your points will be combined. (you + your Buddy) (example: you get first place with 15000 and the last place player score is 200. Combined score is 15200) 2nd place player is paired with the next to last place player. Those scores combined. (example, you get second place with 14000 and the second to last place player gets 500. Combined score is 14500) 3rd place is pair with 3rd to last and so on. The controls felt really weird at first but made complete sense once I read the manual, and I like the game a lot! Nice graphics, good use of sound, and really mellow gameplay. Most of the time when I crashed it was because I was going after a gold nugget and ran into it instead of nabbing it with my pole, so I think as long as I don't go out of my way to get the nuggets I'll do pretty alright Raft Rider (Game 1, B/B Difficulty): 13,767 3 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Jasonhrb Posted October 15, 2022 Share Posted October 15, 2022 (edited) Well, having played this for half an hour or so, I can only conclude that this game is included just after E.T to prove that E.T is not the worst game ever by showcasing one that is much worse 😂. Don't get me wrong, it's not terrible in the way that something like Spikes Peak or Dishaster (definitely the two low points of my time playing HSC imho) is terrible. This one functions properly, the control system is quite clever when you get used to it, and it's fairly playable in its own way. It just feels just a bit . . . .well . . . . dull. When I got my best score, my thought wasn't "great, lets see if I can do better next time", it was "I've had enough of this for now". I'll almost certainly come back for more before next week is out, as I will want to try and beat my score. But it's not one I can see myself playing again after that. Turns out that once you get the hang gettig the gold, and of pushing the joystic left to stop the vertical movement where you want to, this game is really easy. The "joystick left" move makes it easy enough to get past most things, and the realtively generous distribution of gold means that the next extra life is never too far away. Once you work those two things out, you can basicaly play forever. You won't lose many lives, and the gold means you'll gain them back just as quickly anyway. The other thing to remember is that only the raft hitting something will lose you a life. The top half of the man and the stick can boh touch objects with no ill effects Overall, that's a couple of hours of my life that I'm not getting back. But on the upside, rolling it means I don't have to play it again 😂. And frankly I'm just glad of the small mercy of the score rolling ove at 100k. if it went to a million, I'd still be at it now, having started at 7am ish UK time (it's 7:45 pm now!) 😬 As an aside, I also tried this on "A A" difficulty, and it is a muh better game that way. The faster river and moving moose makes for an altogether more fun and challenging game (albeit probably not enough to make me play it again !) Sorry @fakecortex I was probably a bit unclear. My rollage game was about an hour and three quarters .
