Matej
Hello friends. On FB Atari World Italia there are few screenshots from new hires game TONY. Graphics looks amazing. Anyone know more about this project? Edited October 14, 2022 by Matej 9
+x=usr(1536)
Interesting. Is it playable, or just a mockup? I ask because the status area at the bottom doesn't seem to change despite the character apparently moving between rooms, which suggests that the score, health, or items being carried may change.
Matej
I dont know. Just seen it on facebook. But looks beautiful like hires on ZX128K.
Beeblebrox
I saw this a few weeks back on Atarionline.pl If you scroll down towards the end there is a little more info: https://atarionline.pl/forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=5520&page=1#Item_0 To Quote Dracon's post there: The Dudek brothers (XXL and Rafał) are making a new game in the hires called "TONY" (allusion to T. Halik?), Promises to be honey. Apparently the official announcement, video, etc. in October this year. +Philsan
@Matej thanks for mentioning my Italian language (Italian is spoken in Switzerland too) Facebook group. More screenshots are available in game's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100086340110801 1
snicklin
I have to ask, that red TV looks nice, does anyone know the model? As for the game, looks amazing. It looks like it will need some large storage solution. Never have I seen such an elaborate promotion of a work in progress Atari game. Impressive. Beeblebrox
Is love to see the videos but unfortunately I do not have a Facebook account. Pity it's not on YouTube. I agree, that is one gorgeous looking game!! Edited October 14, 2022 by Beeblebrox

Actually, he comments on the videos that they are only GIF animations, and that the animations in the game itself will be smoother. 2

Beeblebrox
Any chance someone could upload the gifs - or even better a video? The work that has gone into this game is astounding.

+Philsan
As it often happens with A8 homebrew, the game will be released for free and a boxed edition will be available if people are interested (contact Retronics).
Beeblebrox
Pending seeing video footage (thanks @Matej) and gameplay reviews of this game I'd almost certainly buy a boxed cart version when released. In the past I've bought boxed cart releases of the excellent Flob and Albert games and digital copies of The Last Squadron and Attack of the Pescii Robots. I plan to buy the boxed release of the up and coming cart based point and click game Onescape when it is released too. Also when L'Abbaye Des Mortes is released I will definitely be buying that gem - digital copy and/or boxed cart - whatever the plan is. Mannn it is a great time to be on the Atari 8-bit scene! Beeblebrox
@Matej many thanks. The developers are certainly not revealing much at this stage. Gonna be interesting to see some more gameplay in weeks to come. Looking very promising though.. Nice death animation.

Beeblebrox
Very intrigued. Just a pity it's Facebook. Hopefully going forward they'll be a YouTube based promo available also. Love to see more footage of actual gameplay and animation. Amazing work looks to have gone into this!!!
