First Spear
https://pkg.cc/id2022 The sign up page is now live for people to commit to playing a game for Intellivision Day on December 3rd! As always, could use a little debug help by googling for "Intellivision Day" and clicking on the Intv Prime link, registering for a game, and posting here if any issues arose and if registration was successful. https://www.google.com/search?q=intellivision+day Registration should be a little smoother this year, multiple people can now commit to playing the same game (though this is discouraged, give every game a chance to be played ). On behalf of the Fun Registry Department at Intv Prime, thanks! #stayBlocky #keepYourDiscThumbStrong 2
+DZ-Jay
Hi, @First Spear, Thanks for doing this. I just signed up. If you do not mind, I have some feedback that may help improve the site: There doesn't seem to be a way to register to play more than one game. I do not mind filling out the form multiple times, but it doesn't offer a link to return to it. Initially, I missed the part where it said that the entry will be reviewed and then added, so I was surprised not to see it on the list after submitting it. You may want to add that note in the big bright green box that calls your attention -- it is definitely is where my eyes focus after submitting, to the exclusion of everything else. Submitting seems a little slow for such a small form (several seconds), which made me wondered if there was a problem. I do not know if there is much that can be done about it, but it is not typical for such things. Your site is the top result on Google for the keywords "Intellivision day," so kudos for that! The form requires a first and last name, but does not offer a field for a "screen name," or other aliases. Some people may not feel comfortable giving their real names, and some others may just want to use their more public nickname. The word "Commit" as the label on the button is a bit brusque and "techie." Perhaps it could say something like, "Send," "Save," or even "Submit," which are more common. Great stuff! I'll be submitting a few more entries myself. I intend to play plenty of games. dZ.
Sinjinhawke
I was going to sign up for Sorrow but did not see it so I will play some Omega Race that day. I have played that game less than I should have considering how much I like it. Just shows how many good new games have come out that I keep getting pulled in new directions.

The other items I'll work on now so it will be even better for 2023. Thanks!

Sinjinhawke
I didn't play until after 11:00pm due to it being a busy day and I'm a slave to closing my exercise rings on my watch everyday but I got it done. Got 98,000 on Omega Race (3-ships) which was pretty good considering I was using the Intellivision 2 controller for some weird reason. +cmart604
I didn't actually sign up but I did play Atlantis and died on day 9. I stupidly also used the Inty 2 which I would not recommend for that game
+DZ-Jay
Alright, time to post some pictures -- better late than never, right? Right?? It took me a while to get started as I found out that some of my old Master Components gave up the ghost, as it were. Nonetheless, I managed to find a working console, and off we went to play! I played several hours yesterday, but for most of it, I completely forgot to take pictures! Then my ever-diligent wife came in with the camera and took some pictures, including some action shots during game-play. Of course, I had to go back and replay some of the games, and I got some crappy scores -- but it was all in the name of good fun, and to celebrate our little console. 😄 My good scores were not recorded -- that's my story, and I will stick to it! First off, I played Upmonster. It's still one of my personal go-tos for quick fun, since it reminds me of good-old Doodle Jump -- a game I spent obscene amounts of time back in its heyday. It was slow progress, and many, many encounters with that obnoxious bird: (I so hate that bird, with the burning passion of a thousand flaming suns!) After many trials and tribulations, I managed to be rescued by my extraterrestrial brethren. Next up was Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, aka "Cloudy Mountain" -- certainly one of my all-time favorites! I played on "Easy" mode the first time, just to get re-acquainted with the mechanics, since it's been a while from the last time I played it. I failed miserably, of course, but managed to re-kindle my experience and to gain the necessary confidence to play a more advanced level: Medium. It was slow going at first, with many false starts, as I stumbled upon obstacles to which I had forgotten I needed to find the item with which to overcome -- namely, the key and the boat. I did get pretty good at crawling the dungeons for arrow quivers. Alas! It was all for nought, for I squandered my considerable inventory of arrows within the cavernous dungeons of the Red and Blue Mountains. (Those pesky arrow-stealing spiders certainly exacerbated my plight). And so, my days as a lone adventurer came to a close, as I finally succumb to the overpowering claws of some dungeon dwelling demon. As I recovered from my wounded ego, I moved on to the next game on my list: Bomb Squad. I have always loved this game, and have really fond memories of playing it with my Father when I was young. To start, I thought to redeem my shameful performance in AD&D by playing the game at the hardest level. Why not, I thought; I've done it plenty of times before to great success. I shall prove my mettle. Unfortunately, my courage greatly overshadowed my bomb-disarming skills, and I failed miserably. (Oh! Those poor city folks who counted on me!) In light of my disastrous performance, I decided to re-calibrate my strategy and disarm a simple bomb with a single digit code, in the easiest of Easy modes. Such are the travails of an aging gamer. SUCCESS!!! -- I exclaimed at last, as I disarmed the bomb with time to spare -- and then went on to proudly relish in the victorious celebration that the ... er ... remaining folks of the city excitedly held in my honour. And just as I humbly accepted the city's adulation, my dear wife reminded me that we had a previous engagement to attend, and the time had come to put the hand-controller down, and get ready to go. So, with a full mixture of shame and pride -- in equal measures -- I powered down my trusty Intellivision Master Component, and went on with the night affairs. Thank you, Intellivision, for providing me with hours of excitement and fun in my youth as in my advancing years. I also would like to thank @First Spear and the guys at Intv Prime for setting this event up on this and previous years. Once again I was able to make some new memories as I played some games I liked, with someone I liked. We'll be back next year, and hopefully I'll remember to bring the camera from the beginning! -dZ. First Spear
Hey all. Thanks for playing! We got some time in over here on Bump-n-Jump, Chess (until we got annoyed by the speed haha), and refreshed on Christmas Carol of course since it's December and we plan to play when we get closer to Christmas. The points brought up here and the posts are great. When Intellivision Day was first thought by the Strategy division of Intv Prime, it was about acknowledging the day and having fun, "solo". A few years later, and people are streaming their celebration, taking photos, and wanting to post scores. It looks like it could be a little "more". If you have other ideas on what can be done in 2023, please keep them coming! ChristmasCarol01.mp4
