1980gamer
Yes. I am OLD school. I like print media. I can take it with me, I don't need to boot it up, plug it in, complain about the back light, internet access etc. LOL I have been getting Retro Gamer for a several years, but they focus a generation beyond what I am looking for. I am looking for something focused on the 2600 through the 7800 time frame. 2600 Intellivision 5200 Colecovision / Adam Nes / Sega / 7800 are okay, but I was much more into the Commodore 64 during this time frame. It would be great if it covered TI99/4A, C64 (Vic 20, C128) I know AA and Youtube are great. But I remember Atari's Club mag, If you are here... You may now it! LOL Electronic Games, Fun and Games, RUN, 99'ER, Compute! and it's flavors etc. Does anything exist these days that covers these systems? I loved the Opcode club mag and Collectorvision's also. But these are one offs or maybe annual. Thankfully my wife got me this for our anniversary https://www.amazon.com/100-Greatest-Console-Video-Games/dp/0764346180 I am just starting it this weekend! Also to all the game publishers, we need an old school catalog covering the Soulbuster's List of home brews including variants! LOL And a second one for the Colecovision games too. All those Team Pixelboy games I missed etc. Of course one of my favorite things to see in catalogs and magazines NEW or COMING SOON with the bubble graphic... I know many catalogs have been published. But we need ( or maybe "I" want ) one with everything Intellivision and another for Colecovision. Again, I know I can google, youtube, AA etc. But it is not the same. Any suggestions for mags still published would be greatly appreciated. ( digital also okay... If that is all I can get )

I certainly hope the demand exists for these to be done in English The "Turbo Style" looks amazing, I loved racing games in the arcade. My local Zayre store had Monaco GP sit down. Played it every time Mom went shopping. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zayre
ZillaRUSH
I enjoy retro gaming mags...what I currently read: Retro Gaming Magazine - just ok, but sometimes has some good articles (have an app that you can download issues on your IPad) Old School Gamer Magazine - just ok, printed comes via US Mail Old 80's mags PDF's - still the best to download and put on your IPad or computer Use this link: http://www.digitpress.com/library/magazines/electronic_games/electronic_games.htm Atari 2600 - on Amazon Michael Salzman puts out an Atari Throwback Zine Monthly...small, but great and a great simple read to get that retro itch fixed. With some many homebrew games coming out these days...wish we had a one stop mag to go to for Atari, INTV, Colecovision, Odyssey (old school systems)
wolfy62
Evercade has started their own retro magazine but it only covers the Evercade. I like the physical print media stuff also,I always bought the Electronic Games magazines back in the 80s.👍
1980gamer
@ZillaRUSH Thank you, I will check those out. @wolfy62 I looked at the Evercade mag. I almost pulled the trigger because of all the retro games they have. But I don't have an Evercade at present. I was just about to pull the trigger when I read how the games ( carts ) have very finite lifespans. Then the next gen stuff is coming also. So, I am in a holding pattern. Yes the Original Electronic Games magazine was great. I was late on the scene, first one I got was July/Aug of 82 I think. I have back filled the prior mags. I think I have them all. I remember how sad I was when my EG came one day as Computer Entertainment or something like that. But I ended up liking it anyway. By late 84 I was really getting into the C64 and that had so many magazine choices, I was already buying Compute! for TI99 stuff. Then started getting the C64 version and buying one offs of Ahoy etc. Basically, if I had $3 extra dollars I wanted to go to Walden Books or the Corner store to see what was available. Oh, I can't remember the name, but one publication was GIANT. It had a bit of everything. Computer components etc. 2600 game rom chips, no cart board, just the chip. Then the Triton Everything books were great too. Wish I didn't toss all that stuff. But where could I fit all of it? LOL

But I always thumbed through it when I saw it. I think it was like $6 BITD. To much for a 15 year old.. I could get a Mastertronics game for a 2 dollars more. LOL Last V8 man I hated that game. LOL I wanted all driving games to work like auto racing realistic steering.
1980gamer
@ZillaRUSH How many issues do you get for a year subscription of Old School Gamer Magazine? Or do you just grab it off the rack? Thank you.

I found 2 spots that mention 6 times per year, but it is implied vs stated https://www.oldschoolgamermagazine.com/market-to-gamers/ has "We publish January – March – May – July – September – November" and https://www.oldschoolgamermagazine.com/membership-account/membership-levels/ has "GETS YOU the printed version in the mail every other month" I'll pass on the feedback that it isn't obvious to OSG...
