Unusual PAL Phoenix PCB IC

I've opened a few different types of cartridges before and have never seen one like this with the IC directly on the board. 

 

The IC had a plastic cover (rather than ceramic) which had come off and has taken out some of the connections. 

 

I'm guessing this is PAL as it has "Non US PCB" printed on it.

I have opened more than 100 of cartridges (PAL and NTSC) these are 5 of the unusual PCBs I have found so far:

I have found one PCB with an eprom, but I can't find it at the moment.

Thanks, the one I have is the same type as the one you have in the bottom left. 

 

The three at the top of your picture look crazy. 

 

Have you dumped the ROM on the one with the EPROM? 

Who knows what might be lurking there.

Yes.

Nothing special (at least for Germany). It was "Super Ferrari" a PAL version/hack of Activision's Enduro. It was sold by the german publisher "Quelle".
