MichaG
Moon Quest is an adventure and hard to play in a competition As an ABBUC member, I am already on my way to the moon.

MichaG
BreakIt made me using my paddles for the first time in this century Arcadia is very interesting, too.
carlsson
Wow, a total of 2850 Euros in prize money! Surely that was donations? I don't follow other game developer competitions that closely, but think very few in the true retro scene can match that amount.
Deteacher
PacMen Evolution: 78,050! I like the bonus levels (for spelling EXTRA) as they are very difficult to complete. Does anyone know what the cake powerup does? When you eat one, there is a timer that counts down (like the bomb and the speed powerups) but I can't figure out what the cake does.

I encourage everyone to be members, then you get to see (download) all the games play them and take part in the voting. I think all the subscription money makes up the prize fund and this is much increased, should be a virtuous circle As a former regular entrant to the contest I really need to make time next year to finish my game that has been on hold for 3 years! Links welcome everyone

MichaG
BREAK IT 2022: I've played it for a few hours this weekend (without switchíng off the Atari) and reached 1,762,870 points with 9 remaining lives. As there are more "P" extra lives than I've lost balls I could have played forever...

graywest
Bunny Hop: Round 26 Pacmen Evolution: 57,480 Both are fun games! Bunny Hop is a puzzle game with no score, just play for levels completed. As far as I can tell, the object is to get the rabbits to the holes. They must jump OVER something else in order to move - other rabbits, rocks, or foxes. All rabbits must be on a hole to complete the level. Pretty straightforward, but a good challenge.

ABBUC Mag #150 says: You can collect these goodies: • Fruit (cherries, apple, banana), vegetables (chilli) and a fried egg. • Hearts, also broken, cakes, you will receive 10 times the amount of points for a short time. • Bomb: with this you can detonate a bomb once for a certain time and sweep all opponents off the field. • High-Speed: with this you will run a little bit faster for a short time. • Letters (E, X, T, R, A): These appear in any order. graywest
Retro-DSCHUMP: 1,520 Battle of Eris: 460 Retro-DSCHUMP is great! Will definitely play again. I ran into issues with Battle of Eris - it was playable but the screen was occasionally jumpy and the timing of the guns/collision detection seemed off. This might be an NTSC problem? Many of the enemies wouldn't explode after multiple direct hits.
McKong
Played Bomb-Man mode on Pacmen 77820. Worth a try. The energizer pills don't work and the only items that appear are bombs

Yes try all out all modes on all games if we can and report back - especially regarding the difficulty / playability. Hopefully the programmers will improve their games to have some lasting appeal with ramped up difficulty through the levels etc like the classics (where possible)

8BIT 1337
I gave Binary Parasite a spin (downloaded it from Fandal here) and it looks like it's only a demo with a few levels. I went to matosimi.atari.org to see about the final version but couldn't find it there (he's got two other games listed, so maybe he just hasn't had time to put it up yet). Very fun puzzler though - I look forward to the full release!
carlsson
Bunny Hop - reached Easy, level 4. I would want to play longer, but my brain refuses me. Perhaps another time. Break It! 2022 Extended - unable to play. Game crashes right after the scrolling level intro screen, probably due to memory fault on my 130XE. Arcadia - at least 800 pts. This game went black after a few rounds with just the music playing. Perhaps another sign of fault on my 130XE? Pac-Men Evolution - 29390 pts. Ok version of Pac-Man, but I didn't see enough evolution in as far as I reached. Dye Heritage Edition - reached level 12. My favorite of the crop, but then again I played the original Dye for a lot of time in 2017. Retro Dschump - 1150 pts, level 4. Bounder, but I never felt the thrill of the original game. Moon Quest - didn't bother with text adventures Der Schränker II - 630 pts. Seems like a homage to early 80's games. I wasn't able to clear the first level and lost interest. Trax - 720 pts. Some kind of Chaos Engine type game, with horrible flickering after a while. Possibly another issue with my computer. Binary Parasite - cleared all 4 demo levels. Quite interesting once you understand the mechanics. Just like 8BIT 1337, I went to the developer's website but so far found no information about a full version. Battle of Eris - 340 pts. Seems like Caverns of Mars / Phobos but recreated 40 years later. Also takes a long while after entering your initials on the high score table until you can play again. Dark Keep - max 6 gold pieces, max level 6 Too bad you can't fight the monsters, could be a decent dungeon crawler. Now it is just a matter of escaping before you die. Der Schränker I - 1000 pts level 3. I'm not sure what the guns are for, as I could not shoot the ghosts. Quite frantic, but not a lasting impression.
