+David_P
An artist from just outside Ottawa Ontario did this mock-up of an Atari cell phone (circa 1983). Enjoy. 4

The first mobile phone I owned was an NEC 9A, c.1992. This was right around the time where phones started seriously shrinking in size, but as the phone itself dated from about 5 years prior to that it was built like a tank. I can personally attest to how someone who has just had their face pummeled with it will be disinclined to ask for the surrender of my wallet to them a second time.
Mclaneinc
I remember seeing one of the first 'mobile' phones, the ones with the cradle and HUGE battery that you carried around by a handle. Having lugged a boom-box around as a young lad, I didn't even consider a mobile phone. In fact I avoided mobile phones until recent times after breaking down on a major A road and being towed by the Police. The stunning lady PC told me in a nice way that a mobile is dead handy, so after a little I got one. Still not a fan but do admit they are handy, but I do not use social media unless I have no real choice.
oky2000
My friend bought a 1992 car and it had one of those really early car phones like in the movie Inner Space, was cool.
