Public Service Announcement - Beat Em & Eat Em for Intellivision

For those of you keen on purchasing the family game "Beat Em & Eat Em" cart release, be warned.

It isn't family friendly and it only works on an NTSC Intellivision. It fails to work on my PAL Intellivision. I suspect the Australian Censors may have had something to do with it.

Since the name, the description, the artwork, the history, and the lack of any indication towards a family-friendly context did not alert you to this fact; then I strongly urge you to stir away from Space C*nt and Póker Risqué as well.

Stay safe, and avert your eyes when necessary.

While I got that the original post was sarcastic about family friendly (and totally something I would say); you have to realize we North Americans are way more uptight.  Sure we can show violence in games and TV that would make people at a slaughterhouse cringe but put any adult activity on display and we riot in streets.

There is a ROM of the game available for anyone in a PAL country to try on a multi-cart prior to investing what must have been significant money for that out of print game.

Thats true.

Any good news on controllers Sinjin?

I haven't checked yet but it's dark and raining out so I take that as a bad sign.  Family and I are going out for the best damn wonton soup this side of Hong Kong so I will check on the way home.

Look at those shrimp wontons.  Sooooo yummy.  You can't beat-em but you can eat-em.

I have found humor on this forum needs to be at the “Dad Joke” level.* Anything as sophisticated as sarcasm will likely fall victim to several pairs of panties getting tied into knots.* But I digress…

So it doesn’t work on PAL systems? Good to know.  Sad because this game is very suitable for Australia.*

* - used to show an attempt at humor.* YMMV

I think that soup is not family-friendly.

The ROM version does on my LTOFlash but the physical cart does not.

Try manuevering the cart some (push in or out a little.. or side to side (gently). It might not be making good contact. If you have another system, try it in that as test. Also, try hitting reset a few times.

*(im sure you would have already known to try this, but i have to say it just in case)

You mean...try to insert the cart gently into the slot? Not forcing it?
