Atari Lynx Screen… best upgrade option?

BennVenn offers a new IPS LCD replacement solution. I've installed a few of them and they are quite nice! Depending on which model you have, it might be quite easy to install the replacement or require some soldering. The model 2 has a replacement ribbon cable setup making installation easy, while the model 1 still requires soldering on the signal wires.

You can order the screens from AtariGame who's new store is known as K-Retro here:

I can vouch for the screen upgrade from them for the Lynx II. I just recently installed it and it

rocks. The USB power mod is another great option. Add to that one of the SD-card solutions

holding every game ROM you can throw at it, and your Lynx will be ready for prime-time! :)

I posted pictures here:

Hope this helps!  :)

I've purchased several of the BennVenns and have been super-happy with them. (Which reminds me, I need to install a couple more!) If your Lynx works (meaning you can still hear audio from the game when you boot up) but the screen is bad, then replacing the screen is a great way to save a Lynx and make it better than new.

I also sell an external USB battery pack adapter on the Songbird site, which simply plugs in the power jack with no mods necessary:

Here's the link to the Lynx 2 version - https://k-retro.com/lcd-mod-kits/32-65--pre-order-bennvenn-ips-lcd-mod-kit-lynx-2.html#/12-lcd_kit_extras-add_protection_zener_diode/16-lynx_model-not_c104129_001_most_lynxes

and the Lynx 1 - https://k-retro.com/lcd-mod-kits/31-61--pre-order-bennvenn-ips-lcd-mod-kit-lynx-1.html#/12-lcd_kit_extras-add_protection_zener_diode

The Lynx 2 version doesn't require any soldering, unless you want to add scanlines - that needs just a single wire soldered in.

The Lynx 1 version does require soldering but we have install guides for the kits.

Do you ship to the UK, wondering what cost would be and if I would end up with import tax/vat etc on top unless there is a UK stockist? thanks

Yeah we ship to UK. We don't pre-pay VAT so you'd have to check on that yourself.
