8bitwidgets.com
Hi everyone, one of the things I'd heard (maybe this is wrong) that the second port allows for a player to do the "dual controller" experience for games like Tron Deadly Discs where you can move with the disc of one controller and shoot with the number pad of the second controller. To my knowledge they haven't released a cable for this. I would like to make this cable, but I don't know how the 14 pins (7x2) are setup to route the signals properly to a DB9 connector. I wondered if anyone knows this? I've written Cote to see what they say so hopefully they will get back to me in the coming days. I'm just eager to get started on ordering the parts and building something cool.
tanuki
We answered you a few minutes ago We will sell the cable in a box, to be inserted in the LPDC box and we will also distribute the cable plans for free.

I apologize if this has been answered already, but I didn't really see an answer to this question anywhere, unless it's buried somewhere in a thread or in a PM.. Can anyone clarify what the purpose of this port is? I see something about a special cable, but what's the purpose of it, connecting another controller to it or something like that? 🤔 If so, when will the plans to make a DIY version be posted? Just curious. Thanks

SiLic0ne t0aD
Yep, I saw that first post, but the OP seemed unsure about it and I never did see tanuki's answer to the question in the other post mentioned.. I briefly looked through some of the other LPDC threads but came up short. That's why I figured I'd just tag tanuki's post so he could chime in with more details. Oh well, I think I get the gist of it though.. It's got to be for another controller. At any rate, I'll probably just make my own cable whenever the plans are posted. Should be fairly simple. 👍

It is not for another controller. If this controller is connected to Port 1 on the console, then you can use this cable to connect to Port 2 on the console. So this one controller is connected to both ports on the console. Now the dpad/disc is routed to Port 1 on the console and the keypad is routed to Port 2 on the console. This will allow you to use the disc and keypad at the same time. So games like Deadly Discs, Nightstalker, and Cloudy Mountain (and some others?) can run and fire at the same time using one controller. It will function as the Dual Action Controller that Nurmix was making from two of the Inty FB controllers.

Yes, that's what I meant, though I worded it rather poorly.. lol, you'll be more or less controlling two controllers at once. The numerix dual action controller seems like the best way to describe it. Edited December 25, 2022 by SiLic0ne t0aD
YannAros
I’ll post the pinout of the connector and schematic of the cable in few days, I’m not at home at the moment. As said, we will also offer pre-made cables in box that will fit in the main controller box together with the adapter box. It will take a bit longer as we concentrate to deliver the controllers for those on the waiting list. 3
YannAros
Hi, sorry to be late for this, but here is the câble pinout if you want to build one by yourself: Our cable will come with a 3D printed connector: Edited January 30 by YannAros
