New game - Drunk Witch

The jam is over --- BUT WAIT!!!

All the fun parts of DrunkWitch are still under development and will pop in until Xmas eve.

 

You can already play the game.
 

All the nice stuff like
- trolls insulting you
- bad drink reactions
- feeling miserable as you get no likes
will be added to the game (for a small monthly subscription fee).

 

So, what do you need to do to get this miserable experience?

 

Head on to DrunkWitch by karrika and download the latest issue of the game.
My recommendation is to download it as late as possible. After all, Xmas should be a joyful holiday...

 Drunk Witch is a jam entry for the LynXjam2022 itch.io jam.

### Storyline ###

You are trying to show your talents as a bartender by blogging your own
DrunkWitch channel. Unfortunately your audience is all the weirdos and
trolls found on the net. Try to survive by mixing quality drinks to
attract followers.

### Controls ###

* UP - browse flasks
* DOWN - browse flasks
* UP/DOWN - browse flasks
* LEFT/RIGHT - browse flasks
* A - pour into cup
* B - drink
* Flip - flip the screen
* Reset - quit the game

Thanks! Using big graphics is a bit hard as everything needs to be in RAM all the time. So I went for 3-bit sprites and 1-bit for sprites. But as I now look at the map I have tons of free space still...

I started to listen to Cassandras (Elvira) audiobook Cruelly Yours! It is really quite nice and witty. But obviously it affected my graphics in this game.

 

I have to confess that I know virtually nothing about drinks. During my life I have been under anti-doping rules during week-ends. So I don't even remember when I was in a bar last time.

 

If the drinks are wrong - sorry. Walter helped me by sending some recipes.

 

I can still add more drinks if some relevant ones are missing. As I only have 16 bits to describe a drink only the first 16 bottles are recognized. Stuff like ice, tonic, lemon and cherries can be added to any drink without affecting the result.

WIP. Some crude gameplay of today... I don't know how much time I have for making smoother animations and how much I can fit in the build,

The number of followers is related with how many different drinks you manage to make. Currently there is no winning screen. But currently 16 drinks exist in this game. So if you manage to get 16 followers you completed the game.

 

And if any of you want to add some drinks to the list, please send me a PM.

 

The current ingredients are:

        curacao,
        vodka,
        rhum,
        cointreau,
        juice,
        campari,
        coke,
        gin,
        whisky,
        grenadine,
        vermouth,
        angostura,
        amaretto,
        bourbon,
        tequila,
        brandy,
Plus your drink can also contain:

        ice,
        tonic,
        lemon,
        cherries,

 

You can check if your drink is recognized in DrunkWitch before you send your suggestions.

Wow! I finally got everything done. The game is now playable and has a finish.

If you manage to create all 16 drinks the game knows you will get a message that your shift has ended and the game reboots.

 

Only one of the drinks has 4 ingredients. Most have 3.
