Harry Potter
Hi! I have ATRUtil for Windows 1.15. However, when I open an .atr file with it, it complains of a wrong extension. I just looked for an update on Google but came back empty-handed except for one site that required me to log on or register to download it. Where can I get an update? +CharlieChaplin
Oh, I only have version 1.13. Unsure if there is a newer version than 1.15, since the author Ken Siders has died some years ago. Wrong extension? It happens from time to time that an XFD image is named ATR (difference: XFD does not have the 16 Byte ATR header, e.g. 92,160 instead of 92,176 Bytes). If so, search for an XFD 2 ATR converter tool or open as XFD and save as ATR.
Harry Potter
I really want to keep the images in .atr format. This issue is not too bad though, because, when I select Open, the current directory is the one containing the image.
_The Doctor__
he told you to convert to .atr so if you want .atr format there is no issue with what he said.
Harry Potter
CharlieChaplin: I misunderstood. The disk images are already in .atr format.
Harry Potter
Is there any other tool to handle .atr images from a GUI? I currently use DIR2ATR to create .atr images for my cc65 programs and also have Franny but don't know how to use it.
baktra
There is one called ATADIM. http://raster.atariportal.cz/forpc/atadim.htm To warn you in advance, this program has one peculiarity. It expects you to drag and drop a disk image to it or have the .atr extension associated with it. If you try to run ATADIM just by double-clicking the atadim.exe, it will not allow you to do anything meaningful. There is no File>Open menu. Harry Potter
I'll download it now. Thanks!
+CharlieChaplin
Besides ATR-Util, I often use MakeATR and ATR-Tools 0.30, both attached here. ATRTools_030.zip makeATR.zip

Wrathchild
If you use Altirra then you can use the disk menu tools and 'explorer' to manage pretty much everything graphically
