What "must have" accessories do you recommend for a new user to the TI99/4A platform in 2023?

Is RAM expansion a "must" or nice to have?   For example, most C64 users don't have it.  Many Atari8bit users do.
 

Also, I see in some videos that people have DB9 joystick adapters... 

 

Finally, what's a good practical intro read / video to bring a new 2023 user up to speed w/o the full blown history of the platform?

32K nowadays is a must have.  The best bet is to get a TI Pi with a SAMS attachment - that will give you everything you need - memory plus a storage mechanism that's easy to upload things to (SAMs has 32K built in).
