Don't sleep on the VCS' Cloud Gaming services

I looked recently at Google Stadia (RIP), which was actually pretty great for VCS owners. Amazon Luna is still here and worth checking out for $10:

There's also Antstream (the absolute best), Geforce Now, and Xbox game pass currently active on the VCS, and anything else through Chrome. It's a great way to get in tons of gaming for cheap and explore both modern and retro games.

GeForce Now is where it's at for the VCS imo.

It's next to check out for me, but it's going to take a bit of time to figure out how to use it and how it works. Never really messed with it outside of once trying to figure out how to play Minecraft through it so I could try a local co-op thing, but it didn't work due to Microsoft account issues with Minecraft.

I can see the basic Luna subscription being a good match for the VCS with the retro arcade games (Capcom titles) and small indie stuff.  And if anyone wants to check out the AAA open world games from Ubisoft then there's that tier too.

But in addition to an existing Xbox Game Pass sub with lots of games, both indie & AAA, probably not worth the extra subscriptrion cost IMHO.

It's surprisingly good, the account setup was a little PITA but once I got it going, it ran Cyberpunk 2077 just as I would expect and that's using their free per hour use account.

Amazon Luna reports all games "not available in your region" when I try it.
It seems that it only works in the USA (and Canada?) at the moment.
I miss Stadia...

Correct, US only. There is a Beta in Europe supposedly but I don't know how or if anyone can sign up for it.

Curious if you could use it with a VPN in the U.S.?

I think it depends on how big your Steam and Epic libraries are, and why you'd want to get that gaming on the VCS over the PC you maybe already have in your house. For me, I think $10 for Luna for 30 days would get me more gaming than the same price for GeForce Now, but I'd also be happy to drop the $10 to make a multiplayer gaming session easy at a friend's house or while traveling or whatever and doing that through the VCS would totally get the job done well.

I finally got around to spending a few weeks with GeForce Now and have put together my video on it:

I see a GeForce Now sub being good for playing a Steam game on a RTX card if your PC doesn't have one.

But yeah, it would be nice if there was a SteamLink or Moonlight app for the VCS that existing PC gamers could use for in-house streaming.
