howerton
I really like Double Dragon on the 7800. I find it too hard time and difficulty wise. Also I know it could have been way better. Is there a way to get a hacked version with infinite time and health. Could someone provide the rom for me. Thanks
Cousin Vinnie
NO NEED TO CHEAT, YOUNG MAN! Here's a guide from Atari 7800 Foreverhttp://www.atari7800forever.com/doubledragonc.html And a video where I beat it for the first time in decades. Use this as inspirado.

howerton
Just played the graphics hack. It was a blast. Hope pokey gets in soon. The music in the original horrible.

Giles N
In my view Double Dragon 7800 could need a hack, fixing some issues: - the punch (either by direct change of hit-detection-frames and/or timing, or through indirect means… which those interested can discuss here) - the music … which, if possible, ought to Level 1 theme -loop twice or thrice, then change to Level 2 theme (possibly after a break ,fade out, then back again… etc). +Pat Brady
The TIA music doesn't sound awful to me. The intonation is fine (IOW the developers got the hard part right). The problems are that the in-game music uses a very short loop, and the envelopes are not great. The bass decays very fast, making it sound thin, and the melody barely decays at all, making it sound flat (not flat in pitch, but flat as in unvaried). Making it sound better wouldn't require POKEY but it might require more ROM — some for longer loops and maybe some for a more sophisticated music driver. POKEY and 2A03 would sound just as bad with this arrangement.

Sttill, I believe the ‘punch’ needs to be fixed as to be take down common enemies quite straightforwardly. Using Kick is sort of breaking up the flow of the game, as you can move towards and opponent and doing button-mashing. You have to move toward an enemy, stop, then start kicking frantically, while avoid moving (as it sets you jumping). A skilled hacker, being able to read and interpret the source-code coukd set things right in at least 2 ways, which I’d not impossible, perhaps even somewhat straightforward…
Fragmare
I'm all for any further updates and/or improvements to the 7800 Double Dragon! It definitely could have sounded way better. I'll just leave this here for now...
